Death Guns In Another World

Chapter 1901 1686: Lover's Company

The gentle symphony of the ocean waves played in the background as Alex and Incursio sat inside their small candle-lit wooden cabana on the beach. The warm glow of the lanterns flickered across their skin, casting dancing shadows on the walls.

The day had been filled with laughter, adventure, and a kind of peace that neither of them was accustomed to. But after swimming, exploring, and simply basking in each other's company, the fatigue was beginning to settle in.

Alex stretched his arms with a groan. "I didn't realize how much tension I was carrying until now."

Incursio, who had been sitting across from him, raised an eyebrow. "You're always moving. Always fighting. Of course, your body is worn."

He smirked, rolling his shoulders. "Maybe. Guess I need a massage."

She scoffed. "Do I look like a masseuse?"

Alex grinned. "No, but you do have strong hands. Besides, if you give me one, I'll return the favor."

For a moment, Incursio seemed to consider, then let out a small sigh and patted the spot in front of her.

"Fine. Lay down."

Alex didn't need to be told twice. He pulled off his coat and shirt, revealing his battle-hardened body—strong, toned muscles with faint scars telling stories of countless battles. He lay on his stomach, arms folded under his head, waiting.

Incursio hesitated. She had never done something like this before.

Her hands, so used to wielding a sword, felt foreign against his bare skin. But as she placed her palms on his broad shoulders and pressed down lightly, she felt the tension beneath her fingertips—hard knots of stress built from endless combat.

She applied more pressure, her hands slowly kneading into his muscles.

Alex let out a deep sigh of relief.

"That actually feels really good."

Incursio arched a brow, a ghost of a smirk on her lips. "Of course it does. I'm strong."

She worked her way down his back, thumbs pressing into the firm muscles along his spine. She could feel him relax under her touch, his breathing slowing. The warmth of his skin, the rhythmic rise and fall of his back—it was strangely intimate.

Her fingers moved lower, tracing over old scars before reaching his lower back, where she applied a firmer touch. Alex let out a soft grunt.

"You're really good at this," he murmured.

Incursio tilted her head slightly. She liked hearing that.

As she continued, she noticed something. His body was incredibly well-built—strong yet lean, like a panther ready to strike. Every inch of him radiated power, but under her hands, he was at ease.

She pressed her fingers deeper, eliciting another satisfied sigh from him.

She liked this. More than she expected.

When she finally pulled her hands away, Alex stretched slightly before sitting up and turning to her. His golden eyes gleamed in the candlelight.

"Your turn."

She hesitated. "I don't need one."

Alex chuckled. "That wasn't part of the deal."

Before she could argue, he was already behind her, his large, warm hands settling onto her slender shoulders. She stiffened immediately.

"Relax," he murmured.

Relax? That was something Incursio didn't do recently with all those misisions.

But then—his hands moved.

Firm, yet careful, they pressed into her tight shoulders, kneading away the tension she didn't even realize she had. The moment his thumbs pressed into the base of her neck, a shiver ran down her spine.

She wasn't expecting this.

She had been prepared for brute force, but instead, his touch was measured and precise, seeking out knots of stress and working them out with ease.

"You're always so tense," Alex noted, his voice close to her ear. "Even now, you're stiff."

Incursio exhaled slowly, trying to ease into his touch. It was hard. She wasn't used to being touched like this—not with care.

His hands slid lower, tracing down her spine, massaging each muscle with practiced ease.

How did he know exactly where to press?

Her amber eyes flickered shut, her body slowly melting under his hands.

When he reached her lower back and applied the perfect amount of pressure, a soft sigh escaped her lips before she could stop it.

Alex chuckled. "See? You needed this."

Incursio opened one eye to glare at him, but there was no real anger behind it.

After a few more minutes, Alex finally withdrew his hands.

"Feel better?" he asked.

She rolled her shoulders experimentally. "…Yes."

He grinned. "Good. Then that means I'll be expecting another massage from you in the future."

She stared at him for a moment before smirking. "We'll see."

After their little exchange, they sat together by the open window, looking out at the moonlit ocean.

The night air was cool, the distant sound of waves rhythmic and soothing.

Alex glanced at her. "You should smile more often."

Incursio raised a brow. "Why?"

"Because it suits you."

She scoffed but didn't look away from the ocean. Well, it was fun playing hard to please so she was really into the role.

For a moment, neither of them spoke.

Then, she softly muttered, "Thank you."

Alex blinked. "For what?"

She didn't answer immediately.

"For bringing me here. For this day. For appearing in my life, making me discover this wonderful feeling. For… everything."

Alex's gaze softened.

"Anytime, Incursio."

As they sat together in the candlelight, the warmth of their earlier touches still lingering on their skin.

She finally understood the quote 'The greatest sweetness of earth is the heaven of a lover's company.'

Alex gazing silently at her profile couldn't help but recall their first meeting. 'Life is unpredictable. Who would have expected something like this? Neither of us but it's why it's fun. I don't regret us becoming what we are today. From enemies to Lover's just like in novel. How cool!'

Alex became lost in his own world, grinning like a fool. For a moment everything seemed unimportant, no plans for the incoming and imminent clash, just two lovers enjoying each other company, at least tonight nothing else mattered.

Meanwhile, Incursio thought. ''From the laughs, to the kisses, to the sweet silent exchanges - being on a date with him nurtured every part of me.''

''I remember Zero using to say: Being loved is a sensation to embrace, yet if you have never felt the real thing before it can scary. Anything new can be this way. It is a step onto a new path, the ground feels different, the air has a new aroma, and the music you feel within begin to change. Love will change you. Love will life you higher if it is the real deal.''

''I thought he was just blabbering nonsense back then but now I understand, having been experiencing the feeling of love I can relate and sincerely I like this feeling, it makes stronger I will slaughter anyone daring to take this away from me, I swear.''

A vow, to never lose this happiness, to continue feeling this feeling she would slaughter them all, her former comrades, former home. Her previous plan to disguise to infiltrate the organization back to stab into their heart in the decisive moment should be reinstated, she secretly decided not wanting to alert the others as they might try dissuading her, everything for her happiness to last forever if possible.
