Chapter 1221: His Arrival (Part 2)
When Murkel had lost the fight to Raze the Dark Magus, quite a lot had happened to him in between thena and where he was now. Far more than anyone coudl imagine. He had escaped by opening up a portal heading to a world filled with beasts.
While there, he was still struggling with his own body. Before, when becoming the head of the Dark Faction, he believed he had synergised completely with the beast that was within him.
It turned out it wasn't the case at all, and only a part of it had really synergised with Murkel. Spending time in a world that had nothing but beasts, the power had synergised even greater with him. And not just that—he had grown stronger.
Murkel fought against powerful beasts that wished to do battle with him, and after beating them, he consumed their crystals. A regular person was unable to eat raw crystals—but it was hard to tell if Murkel was more beast than human at that point.
Through this power, Murkel had also found a way to open up portals that connected to another place—one that would allow Mages to enter. Each time Murkel opened up a portal, he fed the Mages to the beasts around them.
He had befriended the beasts in that world, allowing them to grow stronger by consuming crystals—and Mages alike—as well as whatever items they brought in.
With an army, he had planned to eventually return to Pagna and take back all that was once his. If he couldn't use the Dark, Light, or Demonic Faction—then he would use the beasts themselves.
However, his plan had been thwarted, all due to one individual—and that was Enaxx.
The current land of beasts that Murkel was in—the world—seemed to be dying. Part of it was heading up into the sky, being absorbed and disappearing. He had no idea how long it would be until the entire place was gone, so he needed to act quickly on his plan.
Just as he had gathered his army and gotten them somewhat powerful, a portal had opened to the world he was in on its own—and stepping through it was Enaxx.
Seeing another Mage, Murkel had done what he had always done—until Enaxx noticed him and cast fire spells to take him out of the air. Enaxx was blown away by the power—but he had survived the attack.
As he landed on the ground, he looked right at him.
"A human is here?" Enaxx said. "And you survived my fire magic… are you the one causing all of the problems we've been having?"
Murkel snarled as he looked at the intruder who had arrived in his world. It was clear this wasn't like the other Mages he had fought before.
In the end, the two of them had a large-scale battle with each other. Much of the jungle they were in was destroyed. Enaxx had used his special magic trait—cloning his body a total of five times.
The different number of spells—the attacks coming from various directions—was what had made it difficult for him, but he was stronger than when he had fought against Raze.
He could handle a large amount of magic and still fight on. On top of that, his friends—the beasts by his side—entered the battle.
They could see he was in trouble and struggling to go against the five, so they attempted to help—taking out the others. Only it didn't quite work out. Enaxx was a powerful Mage, one of the best—and using his powers and magic, he killed a large number of beasts.
The fighting continued between Murkel and Enaxx—with anger behind him, Murkel did everything he could to fight against the Mage and dealt a large blow. Three of the Enaxx clones that had appeared were killed.
It was at that moment that Enaxx decided it was enough—and he retreated, closing the portal behind him.
"You can die with the rest of this world and this planet. There's not much on here anyway," Enaxx said. "It's not worth the effort to get rid of you."
Although Enaxx still had more to show—how much effort it would take, and the chance of losing his life over what seemed like nothing—it wasn't worth it in Enaxx's mind. So he decided to inform the Mages and the Grand Magus to forget about any portals that located themselves to where Murkel was.
Murkel was badly hurt by the fight. If it had continued, he wasn't so sure he would have won. But what had hurt him more was that now, he was truly all alone in this new world.
All of the friends he had gathered, that he had spent time with here—all of them were dead around him. But he wouldn't let their deaths go to waste. He went to each of the powerful beasts and started to consume their crystals one by one.
He consumed them—and he could feel the power surging through him again and again. Eventually, consuming too many crystals, a reaction had occurred. The entirety of Murkel's body was encased in a strange red glow.
As it reached his whole body—it was almost as if he was frozen in a red ruby. At the time, Murkel didn't really know what was happening to him—but he later realised the process was almost like hibernation.
The crystal was like a cocoon—and once he broke out of that cocoon, he would grow to be even stronger than he was before. Since the beginning, things were clear to Murkel.
He could utilise the special power of the Hybrid. Not only could he use its power on the beasts to locate himself to the current area—he could use the power to locate himself back to Pagna.
He didn't know why, though—when using the power, it had brought him here, right in the middle of the battlefield—but he was thankful. Thankful that he could meet Enaxx again.
