Lin Clan Residence
Lin Feng jumped towards one of the thugs, his movements swift and relentless. In an instant, he grabbed the man's head and twisted it with incredible force. Crack! The sound of the broken neck was clear, causing the remaining seven thugs to lose their nerve. The man's body slumped in Lin Feng's hands, lifeless. The thugs who witnessed the scene turned pale, fear engulfing them.
"R-run!" one of them shouted, followed by panicked footsteps. Without hesitation, they all fled.
Lin Feng stood still, his eyes gleaming with a cold light. He wiped the blood from his face with his sleeve.
"Tsk, boring," he said, snorting. "I thought you could entertain me for a longer time."
He gazed at the corpse at his feet, then sighed. "Well, at least I had some fun."
With calm steps, he left the scene, following the winding path towards his destination.
"Get ready, Lin Clan."
A few hours later, Lin Feng finally arrived at the grand entrance of the Lin Clan. A high stone wall towered before him, adorned with magnificent dragon carvings on the gate. Servants and guards bustled around, but one thing caught Lin Feng's attention – they all stared at him. Their gazes were filled with hatred, as if they saw someone unwanted.
"Why are they looking at me like that?" Lin Feng wondered, his mind filling with suspicion. "Do they realize I'm not the Lin Feng they know?"
He tried to remain calm, walking straight towards the entrance. However, he then remembered something.
"No," he thought again, "maybe they're looking at me like that because they hate the Lin Feng they know. Maybe he did something wrong before I came here."
Lin Feng continued into the clan, navigating the luxurious corridors adorned with intricate carvings. Soon, his eyes caught a glimpse of a young woman approaching him. Her face was beautiful, with long black hair cascading down, but a cold aura surrounded her. Lin Feng immediately recognized her.
"Lin Yi," he thought. "She's Lin Feng's older sister."
"So, you're finally back," Lin Yi said in a flat tone. "You know, everyone's been looking for you. Didn't you realize you've been missing for three days?"
Lin Feng was taken aback. "Three days?" he thought. "So the Lin Feng they know went missing for three days? Did he run away from home?"
Lin Feng struggled to maintain his composure. He slightly bowed his head, trying to mimic a suitable attitude.
"Ah, sorry, Sister," he said with a remorseful tone. "I've made a mistake."
Upon hearing this, Lin Yi appeared surprised. She gazed at Lin Feng with raised eyebrows.
"You... apologized?" she said with a hesitant tone. "That's unusual. Usually, you'd get angry whenever I advise you."
Lin Feng began to panic inwardly. "Damn," he thought. "Have I done something suspicious? I mustn't get caught."
However, he soon found a reason.
"I've changed, Sister," he replied calmly. "I... I gained enlightenment after breaking through to the second level of the Tempered Body Realm."
Lin Yi merely stared at him coldly. "Is that so?" She snorted softly. "I had hoped you'd die instead."
She then turned around and walked away without waiting for Lin Feng's response. Lin Feng gazed at Lin Yi's receding back, his jaw clenched.
"She hopes I'd die?" he thought, irritated. "What kind of bad behavior did Lin Feng exhibit before that even his own sister despises him?"
What do you think?
