Dao Of The Immortal God

Head Of the Lin clan

Tap tap tap... The sound of knocking echoed softly yet clearly from outside the room. Lin Feng, who was examining a small box he had just discovered, was startled. Instinctively, he quickly hid the box under the bed with a swift yet cautious motion. He made sure to leave no suspicious traces behind. His eyes swept the room, ensuring everything appeared normal. His heart was still racing rapidly, as if warning him of impending danger. The knocking sound might seem ordinary to others, but to Lin Feng, who harbored many secrets, it was like the beat of a war drum.

As he tried to calm down, he took slow steps towards the door. His hand grasped the door handle firmly, then slowly opened it. Creak... The sound of the door's hinges added to the tense atmosphere. Behind the door stood a middle-aged woman with a straight posture. She was one of the senior servants of the Lin Clan, wearing traditional attire characteristic of aristocratic family servants. Her gaze was polite yet firm.

"Young Master," she said in a formal yet moderate tone, "the Clan Head has summoned you to his chambers."

Upon hearing this, Lin Feng's body felt like it had been struck by lightning. His eyes widened, and for a moment, his face turned slightly pale. He was truly caught off guard by this sudden summons. In his mind, thousands of possibilities began to emerge. But one stood out the most: Had the Clan Head discovered his secret?

"The Clan Head of the Lin Clan has summoned me?" he thought anxiously. "What... what if he's already discovered my true identity?!" However, he realized that showing panic would only worsen the situation. So, he quickly put on a calm expression, trying to conceal the turmoil in his heart.

"Alright," he replied briefly. "I'll head to Father's chambers immediately. I just need to change my clothes first."

After saying this, Lin Feng closed the door slowly. As soon as the door was fully closed, his expression changed drastically. Panic began to resurface. He sat down on the edge of his bed, holding his head in his hands.

"What should I do...? Should I escape now?" he thought frantically. "No... that would only make me look more suspicious. If he's already discovered my secret, escaping would only hasten my downfall. It's better if I continue to act normally. Yes... stay calm..." Having made up his mind, Lin Feng stood up and opened his closet. He chose neat and clean attire, then quickly put it on. Although he appeared calm on the outside, a storm still raged within his heart. Before long, he stepped out of his room and began heading towards the main chamber where the Clan Head, Lin Zheng, usually received guests and family members. Each step he took felt heavy. The sound of his footsteps echoing off the stone floor seemed louder than usual. In front of the main chamber's door, he halted for a moment. His hand grasped the hem of his clothes tightly. He took a deep breath, trying to mentally prepare himself for the worst. However, before he could even knock on the door, a deep, authoritative voice sounded from within the room.

"Enter."

The voice was cold, deep, and full of pressure. Lin Feng knew it all too well. It was his father's voice, Lin Zheng—the Clan Head of the Lin Clan. With slow steps, Lin Feng opened the door and entered. As soon as he stepped inside, an oppressive aura enveloped him. The atmosphere within was vastly different from other places. The air felt heavy. In the center of the room, a middle-aged man sat with a sharp gaze and an aura that couldn't be underestimated. He exuded an overwhelming dominance. The man was Lin Zheng, the Clan Head of the Lin Clan and the father of the original Lin Feng. His cultivation had reached the Early Nascent Soul Stage, an achievement that only a select few could attain in this region. On either side of Lin Zheng stood three other individuals with dignified auras: Lin Yi, Lin Wei, and Lin Shi—Lin Feng's siblings, who had all reached the Early Qi Fusion Stage. Lin Feng quickly paid his respects with a respectful attitude. He bowed his head politely.

"Lin Feng greets the Clan Head," he said in a polite and formal tone, though his face still looked pale. In his heart, he could only mutter, "This pressure... his aura is so strong... Can I one day reach this level of power...?" Lin Zheng gazed at Lin Feng deeply, then began to speak in a voice that was still serious yet slightly more composed.

"Lin Feng, do you know why I summoned you to this room?" Lin Feng shook his head slightly. He replied in a soft and gentle voice, trying to appear clueless.

"I don't know... Father..." Lin Zheng furrowed his brow slightly, then let out a soft sigh.
