Cultivation Struggles of a Lowly Fox

Chapter 387 – Twins against Duos

The Twins stepped forward after Aiko harassed the disciples and Elders.

There was yet another uproar, since the disciples didn't expect them to be true twins. They expected two Foxes to look similar, but that duo was pretty much a copy of each other. The only thing slightly different was their facial markings.

A new wave of challengers approached them and the Twins were quite happy.

They did practise with Mei and the Blood Fox, but that didn't mean it was perfect training.

Yuxi and Wanshu didn't really want to hurt them too much since their synchronisation was too good.

Even Mei had troubles sometimes with them and she was very powerful.

The challengers approached, but Aiko silenced them.

"Keep in mind the rules. You can't challenge them individually, and only in pairs. That means you will have to go and fight in duos." Aiko explained once again, since it seemed like they forgot all their brains back where they were sitting.

The uproar calmed down quite a bit, but there were still plenty of challengers.

The Twins also had a lot more Stamina than the Blood Fox, so they would be able to scam them even more.

The first duo to challenge them were from a unique Sect. That Sect practised the sword, but in pairs.

One sword was hard and sharp, while the other was mellow and free-flowing.

This allowed them to dominate others while they were in pairs, but they had trouble acting alone.

The pair were also quite pretty. The guy was only slightly taller than the girl and he had sharp features, fitting for his side.

Meanwhile, the girl was very gentle and kind looking, it was a stark contrast to her blade.

But as one would say: Look can be deceiving.

It was her duty to confuse the enemies and make them lower their guard.

''They are average.'' The Twins thought, looking at the Human side. They were Foxes, so they could easily see through her acting. Moreover, there was also this unsettling feeling that they shouldn't cross blades with the Human girl.

The Twins nudged each other. This meant that Yuxi would be the support, while Wanshu would be the rolling rock, destroying everything in her path.

Yuxi giggled softly and Wanshu eased up as well.

The Human pair flinched from the sudden change of demeanour, and even the girl's complexion changed.

She no longer acted like a gentle girl, but as a mellow sword with hidden intent.

Wanshu dashed towards the guy, he was average looking, so she would never be blinded by his handsomeness and as such she met his blade with ferocious impact.

Sparks flew between their swords, but it was obvious that Wanshu's blade was inferior. It seemed like this pair was very favoured by the Elders.

Meanwhile, Yuxi was observing the situation, only disrupting the enemy's cooperation.

She would use daggers that were tied to [Nightmare Threads].

They were not allowed to use [Little Nightmare] which was fine, since they didn't really train with that.

They also didn't pick more Abilities from [Nightmare Incarnation], other than [Nightmare Weaponry], just in case they ran out of weapons.

This allowed them to master their Abilities with precision and use them to their full potential.

The girl was bothered that the Fox was disrupting her Technique, like this, they wouldn't be able to gain the upper hand.

Yuxi used her [Nightmare Weaponry] to conjure a kunai and swiftly threw it at the girl.

She didn't expect it and had to completely cancel the Technique in order to defend against the kunai.

Yuxi also threw one more towards the guy, so that Wanshu had an easier time.

The guy was bothered by that as he already had a hard time fighting against this damned Fox brute.

The girl parried the kunai, but Yuxi used that brief window to tie her with her [Nightmare Threads].

With that, the pair was no longer a pair and Wanshu was able to pierce his shoulder with her blade.

The Human pair were defeated with such a precise Skill that even Aiko forgot to comment.

"So cool!" Aiko yelped. "Did you see that everyone-"

Aiko narrated what happened with great enthusiasm, which made the Twins blush furiously.

The Elders were impressed by both the Twins and the Vicious Cub. Her intellect was high and she was able to accurately explain what happened during that fight. If it was not for her sharp tongue, she would be a fitting Beast for Contraction.

Meanwhile, the Twins were quite terrifying. The Elders doubted the claim that they were twins, but seeing their impeccable cooperation that didn't require talking, made for quite the bone-chilling combination and fighting prowess.

The Elders no longer underestimated the Vicious Cub's entourage, but that was not the same for the disciples.

They were amazed by their cooperation, and everyone wanted to have a fight against them to see how far they would be able to go.

This naturally disheartened the Elders, since they would lose a lot of resources, but so far the benefits were greater than the losses.

You can't often find such troublesome opponents, and if their Disciples could learn something from it...

The Elders nodded at each other, they would call their Disciples and have them fight the Twins.

...

The next challenger stepped forward, and Aiko observed this fight closely. She didn't expect that the Twins would grow this strong.

Moreover, she also understood that because of their special condition, they were able to dish out even more damage than they would be able to normally.

This time it was once again a pair of Disciples, but their aura was incomparable to the previous duo.

They both had the same stoic expression and their beauty was likewise striking. The girl was gentle like a flowing river, while the guy was as stiff as a mountain.

It was obvious that the Elders were taking out the big guns in order to defeat the Twins.

The Twins nodded again. Wanshu would be vanguard once again, since she was able to use more of her strength than Yuxi.

Yuxi would be supporting from the backside, throwing kunai and other troublesome weapons.

Both duos dashed towards each other and Wanshu's blade met with the guys.

The first impact was very startling for Wanshu, since she really felt like going against a mountain.

The girl tilted her head, intending to slash Wanshu on her stomach, but she was intercepted by Yuxi's blade.

Yuxi also added 3 kunai to cause some chaos.

Unfortunately, the girl spun like a meander, deflecting all of them.

Yuxi narrowed her eyes and used her kunai with [Nightmare Threads] in tandem.

The girl struggled a bit with the kunai, but the [Nightmare Threads] were shattered by the stomp from the guy.

Wanshu used this opportunity to slash him, but he was able to block it with his sword.

Everyone was silent. This kind of fight was rare since most of them would end up within a few moves, even the Elders observed silently, trying to imagine themselves in that situation for greater immersion.

Unfortunately that stalemate didn't last long, since a normal fight wouldn't work, the Twins would just have to fight dirty...

Wanshu briefly closed her eyes, confusing the guy, but he was quick to use this opportunity to slash her.

Meanwhile, Yuxi kicked up the earth causing dust to get into their eyes, but since the Twins had closed eyes, they were fine.

The pair yelped at the sudden situation as their eyes moistened and closed. It was difficult to see with dust in their eyes.

Wanshu redoubled her efforts and strikes, making his footing unstable.

Yuxi likewise worked towards making the girl suffer.

The first thing she did was to catch the girl's leg and pull her.

Contrary to what most would believe, Cultivators don't like to train their bodies unless they are Body Cultivators.

That means the girl would not be able to spread her legs completely like someone who stretches their body daily.

"Ack!" The girl yelled out as her private parts were strained.

Yuxi delivered a swift blow to the stomach and the girl collapsed, foaming from the mouth.

Wanshu finished this deal with a nice sidekick that sent the guy flying.

The Twins were victorious again, but the Human side had bitter feelings in their mouths. From what was an honourable fight turned into a normal brawl...

But Aiko didn't think it was like that.

"Did you see that? It's important to know where you are fighting!" Aiko explained. "If you fight in a place like desert or with loose soil, you need to empower your eyes and create a Qi barrier to prevent sand from getting into your eyes!" Her suggestions kept going. "Sure, it might weaken you in the long run, but then you won't be susceptible to outside interference!"

The disciples paused and the Elders raised their eyebrows. None of them expected help from the Beasts, much less from someone called the Vicious Cub.

Yet she accurately explained the situation once again and even gave suggestions to Humans.

The Elders realised that their disciples were lacking in more aspects than they expected, so they wouldn't blame the Foxes for such a cheap fight for the time being.

Aiko kept explaining for a bit more. She was harvesting goodwill that will be later used to scam them more, but those silly Human Elders were unaware of that fact.

Aiko finished her words and gestured. "Does anyone else want to challenge the Twins?"

There were more challengers than before which startled Aiko and she glanced at her team.

The Twins just smiled, not minding it. They already got a share of those Treasures and it was not like Aiko would keep all those Treasures for herself, so they had no complaints about fighting more.

The Twins also noticed how powerful they were getting from actual fights and what they needed in order to keep improving.

Cheap tactics would only work in lower Cultivations, so they would have to adjust their mindset and polish their coordination even more!

Aiko was happy that the Twins didn't mind more fights. The Treasures and Pills were piling up endlessly and it was fun to watch the Elders look for more Treasures to use as bargaining chips.
