Chapter 63: The cousin had a bad start, lost all his advantages, and gave a victory speech!
Da1vg locked his lifeless fish-like eyes onto mopoz and asked in a devilish tone, “This is what you call ‘one shot away from death’?”
Mopoz hesitated and weakly replied, “I hit him for half HP, that should count as low health, right?”
SunPayus, standing nearby, burst out laughing. “Meet him, he’s low. Shoot him once, he’s at 1 HP. Shoot him twice, he’s still got a drop left!”
"'Low HP' is your guys’ biggest lie!"
Even Da1vg couldn’t help but laugh, but he still explained, “Actually, mopoz did tag him hard. It’s just that young’s aim was too clean. I caught the timing and fired one shot, but he instantly flicked and killed me instead.”
“This is really giving me no-rank matchmaking vibes,” David muttered, still in disbelief.
Young’s instant counter-kill had scared him to his core. Worse yet, it crushed their hopes of making a comeback in that round—such a shame.
The MR in-game leader quickly reassured them, “No big deal, we’ve got rifles now. Let’s just play a solid defense and slowly bring the score back.”
“SunPayus, just pull out the AWP and hold mid. We’ll start with a basic 2-1-2 setup—keep it simple and react accordingly.”
As the countdown ended, SunPayus threw a molly into VIP right at the start. His plan was to disrupt the enemy’s VIP smoke with his molly, creating a one-way smoke advantage. But very quickly, he was dumbfounded.Because… the enemy hadn’t thrown their VIP smoke at all.
This meant he had just wasted a molly for no reason, and worse, he lost early-mid control intel because of it.
“This has to be a boosted account… They have zero utility knowledge, but their aim is god-tier?” SunPayus thought to himself, feeling frustrated.
He started aggressively shaking his AWP back and forth. When someone is annoyed, their small actions become especially exaggerated.
He waited for a long moment until the VIP molly finally burned out, then caught the timing when the enemy threw a replacement smoke and peeked mid.
Right then, he saw one guy standing in the middle of the road and another just past the smoke at the cross.
Without hesitation, he flicked and fired.
“—Bang!”
[SunPayus has killed xiaosage with an AWP]
Just as SunPayus was about to celebrate getting the first kill, he suddenly heard multiple gunshots ring out—
“Boom! Boom!”
“Holy sh*t! This guy just double-dinked me through the wall?!”
SunPayus glanced at his health bar, now in the single digits, and panickedly escaped from the VIP danger zone.
That was way too close.
“What a shame.” Because of timing issues, Jiang Yang had been busy throwing the VIP smoke at the start, so he missed his chance to follow up.
As a result, he couldn’t get a trade kill in time. But based on his prediction, he figured the enemy was already low.
This round, their team had an A-heavy setup, with Jiang Yang and Brother Xiaosa controlling mid.
With Brother Xiaosa down, Jiang Yang was now alone and had to play cautiously.
MO quickly made the mid-round call: “Cousin, move when you see an opportunity. The rest of us will go first.”
Since mid had already seen action, the enemy would definitely be wary of Jiang Yang’s presence. Meanwhile, his teammates had to seize the moment and launch their attack.
Jiang Yang remained silent, carefully searching for the perfect moment to strike—like a hidden assassin waiting for the kill.
At A1, MO and DD opted for a silent contact play.
But MO, peeking first, was immediately taken down by a CT standing at a sneaky off-angle on the site box.
Seeing this, Jiang Yang wasted no time—he stepped up from Archway.
That off-angle wasn’t something you could pre-aim and flick to instantly, but there were still some risks of getting caught from other angles.
Jiang Yang spotted the enemy’s side profile and, along with DD, swiftly finished the kill.
After securing the frag, Jiang Yang didn’t rush in. Instead, he quickly counter-smoked the area to block off B Short, preventing a potential flank.
“Cousin got one, but there’s still an enemy at Jungle. Do we know this info?”
“A1 and A2 Balcony are still pushing up, but at this pace, the CTs will be fully rotated soon,” Ma Xixi sounded anxious. “Jungle isn’t a pre-aimed position, and there’s another one sneaking up from Lower!”
“This is a pincer cheese strat!”
With his teammates pushing site, Jiang Yang continued feeding them intel from Archway.
He sensed something was off about the CT’s A-site setup.
In pro play, people don’t usually stand in those sneaky off-angles unless it’s a last-man-standing situation.
Jiang Yang deduced there must be a teammate covering Archway who had just missed their timing.
So now, his job was to find that guy.
He kept jiggle-peeking, constantly strafing to bait out a reaction.
Alex, holding Jungle, heard the footsteps and adjusted his crosshair, ready to fire.
He spotted a brief movement in Archway and immediately shot—
Only to realize a second too late that he had been baited.
As he tried to correct his aim, Jiang Yang smoothly wide-swung and—
“Bang!”
[young has headshotted alex with an AK-47]
“Cousin just baited alex and deleted him! But someone’s flanking from behind—does he know?”
“He knows!!” Ma Xixi’s face was full of excitement. He watched as Jiang Yang, after taking down Alex, immediately turned back to check Archway.
Da1vg, who had sneaked up from Lower, had no idea he was walking into a trap. Jiang Yang used a one-way smoke and took him down cleanly!
“Damn…” Ma Xixi took a sharp breath. “Cousin’s smoke plays are next level!”
With Jiang Yang’s clutch performance at Archway, they turned the numbers advantage back in their favor.
Jiang Yang stayed calm, even taking a quick glance at B Short.
Not spotting anyone, he made a quick judgment.
“The last two are probably coming from CT Spawn.”
At this timing, since an enemy had already pushed from Lower for intel, there was no reason for another forward push elsewhere.
On top of that, the last opponent was an AWP he had already tagged low. Most likely, the AWP and rifle were grouping to push together.
With that thought, Jiang Yang peeked Archway, aiming directly at CT Spawn.
A CT peeked him.
They exchanged shots, but Jiang Yang’s first bullet didn’t finish the job, so he backed off.
Meanwhile, DD had just planted the bomb at Long Box.
They now had a strong crossfire setup—if the CTs pushed, Jiang Yang was ready to trade.
The CTs hesitated, but eventually tried to pressure DD.
Before Jiang Yang even needed to fire, DD had already won his duel.
“DD wins the fight, only the last AWP remains!”
“Su Di tried to reposition from A2 Balcony, but SunPayus shut him down!”
“SunPayus knows he’s low HP and trapped. He can’t even save the AWP, so he has to take the fight.”
“DD isn’t moving. Jiang Yang is scouting first. The AWP peeks from Phone Booth, but Jiang Yang doesn’t give him a shot!”
With Jiang Yang securing the final kill, the score became 4-0.
Ma Xixi watched the replay and commented, “Man, if Cousin hadn’t played Archway so well, this round would’ve gone differently.”
As smooth as things had been, MR came back with a huge gamble in the next round…
Right after, Jiang Yang took his AWP to T Mid. Originally, he planned to coordinate with DD using a flashbang to push back into Archway.
But just as he had this thought, Brother Xiaosa suddenly shouted in voice chat, “B Short incoming! Watch B Short!”
Hearing this, Jiang Yang immediately adjusted his AWP to hold B Short.
“DD, make some noise in Mid.”
DD instantly ran forward, deliberately making footsteps.
And just as Jiang Yang expected, an enemy slowly crept out of B Short.
“—Bang!”
[young has killed dav1g with an AWP]
Just as he thought—too predictable.
Even though MR was considered the dark horse of Spain, their playstyle was still very much ladder-tier. Everyone was always looking for unnecessary openings… Jiang Yang thought to himself.
With another early-round pick secured, the pressure on his team’s attack was greatly reduced. After all, this was a free kill without much effort.
MO, realizing they had taken down a B Short player, adjusted the strategy.
He instructed Jiang Yang to throw a second VIP smoke to block further enemy recon.
Meanwhile, the rest of the team gathered at B2 Balcony.
As the last one to arrive, Jiang Yang took on the role of utility support, holding back to wait for information.
His teammates silently crept up front while he scouted carefully.
The moment a red dot appeared on his minimap, he instantly threw two flashbangs and quickly regrouped with the main force.
“MR cleared Mid and didn’t spot anyone. The moment they heard footsteps, they knew B2 was about to hit!”
“Mopoz is stalling with utility. Brother Xiaosa was the first to drop down to check the site, but he happened to leave his back exposed to an enemy lurking outside and got taken down instantly!”
“The others got stuck behind utility and couldn’t trade in time!!”
“If mopoz keeps stalling like this, they’re going to run out of smokes. DD swung wide for a trade but lost the duel—fortunately, MO managed to secure the kill!”
“MO plants the bomb, and Cousin moves to hold B Short with the AWP. But alex from B2 flanked again, and the moment MO finished planting, he got taken down!”
“Su Di managed to kill an enemy sneaking from Market, but it’s now a 2v2. They know there’s one in B2, but they don’t know where the other guy is!”
Jiang Yang aimed towards Market, holding an angle with his AWP. His plan was to have Su Di cover B Short.
After all, the B2 player had already gotten a kill and was likely holding his position for now.
They just needed to locate the last enemy first.
However, Su Di and Jiang Yang weren’t on the same page.
After getting his kill, Su Di instinctively repositioned to avoid getting pre-fired—
But what he didn’t know was that there was a second AWP in Market, and in the middle of repositioning, SunPayus shot him down.
Just like that, Jiang Yang was left in a 1v2 clutch.
Fortunately, he had already confirmed both enemy positions, meaning the situation was still winnable.
Jiang Yang didn’t rush to fire. He aimed at B2’s window, waiting for an opening.
The moment he scoped in, the B2 player would know his location—so he had to rely on a quick-scope shot to compensate.
However, alex from B2 played it smart, carefully jiggle-peeking as he crossed.
Jiang Yang, being too quick on the trigger, ended up missing his shot.
This put him in a tough spot right from the start.
But after playing so many ranked games with professional players, he was more than familiar with their habits.
At this moment, Market’s AWP should be making a move.
But instead of countering it directly, Jiang Yang pulled back behind cover and fired a random shot at the wall—
Then immediately re-aimed at B2.
Hearing the gunshot, alex assumed Jiang Yang was aiming at his Market teammate, so he confidently peeked—
Only to realize Jiang Yang had been holding his angle the entire time!
“This isn’t right—!”
“—Bang!”
[young has headshotted aleX with an AWP]
Viewers in the livestream chat were momentarily confused by Jiang Yang’s random shot at the wall.
But when they saw him instantly reposition and outplay B2, they erupted in excitement—realizing that first shot was just a bait.
Jiang Yang’s move was bold, but his tunnel vision on one target caused him to momentarily lose track of the other AWP.
Now that B2 was eliminated, his next goal was to let the last enemy make the first move—then react accordingly.
SunPayus, seeing his teammate get taken down, felt a wave of pressure.
He was worried Jiang Yang would peek while he repositioned, so he carefully held B Short as he crept toward the bombsite.
“Poor aleX got completely outplayed. Now it’s just the battle of the two remaining gods—who is the real ‘Sun God’ here?!”
“SunPayus fakes a defuse, but Cousin has already sneaked out from B Short! They just barely missed each other’s timing!”
“SunPayus decides to smoke off B Short and stick the defuse!!”
Jiang Yang didn’t panic.
He calmly adjusted his position, confirmed his angle, and—
“Bang!”
[young has headshotted SunPayus through smoke and a wall with an AWP]
Seeing the killfeed, Ma Xixi burst into laughter. “SunPayus stuck the defuse for ten full seconds, and Cousin still found the shot! If this were ranked, he’d already be getting reported!”
“He always pulls the team back from the brink!!”
【Cousin is the REAL ‘Sun God’!!!】
【He’s beaten SunPayus three times in this matchup already!】
【That smoke headshot was insane!】
【This is only natural—Cousin IS the ‘Sun God’! The brighter the sun, the clearer everything becomes!】
【Cousin in a clutch? Cousin at a disadvantage? Cousin’s position is locked? Cousin still wins.】
【On Mirage, you can ALWAYS trust Cousin’s clutch plays!】
【This guy’s nerves are insane—he even had the guts to bait a second shot. I would've rushed in already!】
Steel Helmets Team Room.
Jiang Yang stared at the killfeed, stunned for a moment.
That smoke kill wasn’t actually that surprising—he had fired two consecutive shots while adjusting his angle.
But he hadn’t expected it to turn into a smoke + wallbang + headshot combination.
Kills like this were just way too rare, making Jiang Yang genuinely happy about it.
“Cousin, after pulling off that clutch, you should’ve instantly looked down at the ground,” DD joked. “The livestream viewers would’ve gone crazy!”
Brother Xiaosa chimed in, “Yeah, gotta go for the most meme-worthy play.”
“No need,” Jiang Yang shook his head. “I’ll just change my in-game name to ‘word.exe’ instead.”
The whole room burst into laughter.
Then Jiang Yang got serious again. “Come on, let’s get more rounds before halftime. Don’t give them a chance to regain momentum.”
MR, despite suffering multiple rounds of individual outplays, refused to call a timeout.
Instead, they doubled down and tried to brute-force aim duels.
Jiang Yang quickly showed them why that was a mistake.
To him, MR’s thought process was completely transparent.
During the game, it felt like he had a sixth sense—wherever he held his crosshair, enemies would appear.
MR’s players felt utterly helpless.
It seemed like they barely had any opportunities to fight back.
The only rounds they managed to win were off the occasional hero plays from alex and SunPayus.
But by halftime, the score had already reached a crushing 11:4.
What do you think?
