Chronicles of Forgotten Extra

Chapter 130 130: How to Curse 101?

Nyx POV [First POV]

"Hey, look at her."

"Isn't that Nyx? The rank one?"

I heard the murmurs as I walked through the streets, but I ignored them.

My destination was Jeremy's office.

It had been a day since the practical combat incident.

My mind had calmed down.

I didn't feel much about it anymore.

Except…

A tiny bit of annoyance.

How dare that fker not react?

This single question has been bugging me ever since.

Just when I was browsing through my ManaSync to find ways to get revenge, I found something else instead.

Something magical.

Curse words.

I learnt how to curse.

It was an enlightening experience.

I learnt many such words from my ManaSync.

I didn't even know words like fker existed before.

No one in the palace ever used them, and I was never allowed to go outside to learn something like that either.

Even technological devices were forbidden to me—anything that could connect me to the outside world.

Curse words were magical.

Every time I said one, I felt a strange sense of relief.

If I had cursed like this back at home, my father would have thrown me into the Chamber of Emptiness.

The worst punishment in my family.

A place where time stretches, and you are left in complete isolation for three days.

It sounds short.

But inside?

It feels like eternity.

A person could go mad.

…And that fker of a father threw me in there just because I broke his favourite vase.

Just a vase.

Again, I felt relieved by cursing him.

These words are truly magical.

I should use them more often. It's good for my mental health.

But back to more important matters.

That bastard Alden.

How dare he ignore me?

He touched me during the match, and yet—nothing?

No reaction.

No embarrassment.

Am I not beautiful enough or what?

I glanced at one of the bystander students.

Just looking at him made his face turn red, and he quickly averted his eyes.

This was how most boys reacted to me ever since I arrived in this world .

But Alden?

That fool didn't even flinch.

What kind of emotionless block of wood was he?

I gritted my teeth.

I'm going to have my revenge.

Definitely.

But first—Jeremy.

I picked up my pace, a smirk forming on my lips.

Lost in my thoughts, I finally arrived at a familiar place.

The guards standing outside quickly bowed before opening the gate for me.

I didn't care about their respect as I entered the office building.

The place was as desolate as always.

No one could enter this building without Jeremy's permission.

I stepped into Jeremy's office.

As I had expected, he was seated like some king.

But the moment he saw me, he quickly got up and bowed.

Jeremy was just a dog of the family.

His entire bloodline was made up of loyal servants to my clan.

The only thing known about his family is that members of his family were sent to different worlds for many generations.

As for the purpose?

No one except my father knew about it.

"Good morning, Princess." Jeremy greeted politely.

I narrowed my eyes.

"I told you not to call me that, didn't I?" My voice was cold.

I hated being called "Princess".

I had read books and fairy tales about princesses.

Stories of pampered girls.

Born into easy lives and being shielded from suffering.

How their lives were easy.

How a prince in shining armour came to save them.

But my life was nothing like that.

I didn't have anything easy. I have suffered ever since I was just a kid.

As for hoping for a prince?

I would rather die than have expectations.

I have learnt a valuable lesson in life.

Expectations always lead to disappointment.

And I've had enough disappointment for a lifetime.

I wouldn't allow myself to feel it again.

__

I sat on the couch where I sit usually as I watched Jeremy with narrowed eyes.

"Did you get what I asked for?"

"Not yet, Miss." Jeremy said with his usual smile.

My brows twitched.

"Not yet?"

"Amyra is the emperor's favourite daughter. That fool dotes on her too much. It's difficult to gather information on her." He explained it to me.

I clicked my tongue.

Still…

Jeremy wasn't incompetent.

If he couldn't dig anything up, that meant information on her was being deliberately erased or protected.

That was interesting.

"Then gather information on Alden too."

Jeremy didn't react for a moment.

"Alden?"

I nodded. "Yes, Alden."

"As you wish." His lips curled up in amusement before he bowed slightly.

I turned away, walking toward the large windows of his office.

The academy stretched far below, but my mind was elsewhere.

Jeremy.

I didn't trust him. Not even for a second. He acted all polite, and loyal.

Always bowing, always smiling and always following my every orders. But I wasn't stupid.

I knew he was not how he looked.

He wouldn't go against the family openly, of course.

He couldn't.

The restrictions placed on him wouldn't allow it.

But still…

Something about him always felt off.

I dismissed the thought.

It didn't matter.

Even if he tried something, the family's restrictions would crush him before he could make a move.

He was just a dog on a leash.

And dogs?

They only had two purposes.

To serve.

Or to be put down.

I glanced back at Jeremy, who was already writing something down in that notebook of his.

"Anything else to report?" I asked.

"Nothing, Miss," he answered immediately.

I turned around to leave.

Just then–

Jeremy called me again.

"Just a moment, Miss," he said.

I stopped. "What?"

"There is something." Jeremy said, as if remembering something.

"Oh? And what's that?" I asked in amusement.

"A few weeks ago, I got a report about some missing students." He continued.

"At that time I had dismissed it, thinking they might've been killed by some monsters."

"But no trace of them was found."

"And why would this matter to me?" I narrowed my eyes.

"They were part of the infiltrators I had allowed on your command."

Now that caught my attention.

"Go on."

"I have a suspicion that this disappearance was somehow connected to Amyra."

"She was on another mission in the same area."

"Although it could be a coincidence and I might be overthinking things, I suspect otherwise."

After a moment of silence, he spoke again.

"That girl is dangerous, Miss."

"You should be careful of her, Young Miss." He met my gaze.

"Do you think I'll lose to her?" I asked, annoyed.

"No–no, how dare I?" He bowed immediately.

"It's just that you are not at your peak strength yet, Miss." He explained. "I just think it would be better to be cautious of her."

"Ok, I'll think about it." I answered him before turning around, "If there is nothing else, I'll be going now."

Saying such, I exited the office.

__

My next destination was class.

But before actually going to the class, I have to meet my friend.

I walked towards a small garden and sat on a bench, and soon she arrived.

~Meoww

Right on time today too.

She was my only friend in this world.

I had met her coincidentally and gave her something to eat.

From that day, whenever I came here, she appeared and played with me for a bit.

She was also the reason for me being late to classes most of the time.

She was too cute.

Her pure white fur shone under light, and her blue pupils looked calm like a lake.

I wanted to take her with me, but she refuses to go anywhere else.

I think she might have an owner.

I gave her the usual treat I bring with me.

She ate it gracefully.

Unlike how she played with me, usually she turned around to leave.

Huh?

Why are you leaving already?

I didn't say anything out loud, but I felt disappointed.

She must have something else to do.

I got up from my seat with a sigh. I still had ten minutes before class began.

Usually I play with Snowy at this time.

Snowy was the name I gave her because of her snow-white fur.

Should I just go to class?

It felt weird to go to class on time.

I just walked towards the class.

The class was half filled with students.

Some were chatting, and some were scrolling through their ManaSync.

I saw some students laughing as they made some jokes with their friends.

I didn't wish to accept it, but I felt envious.

Friends.

This word was absent in my life. I didn't have anyone whom I called a friend back in the clan.

And when I came to this world, I found out I didn't have the social skills necessary to make friends.

I couldn't talk to people due to my ego.

And when they talked to me by themselves, I responded to them coldly.

So I just gave up on the friends thing as a whole.

It's not like I didn't have any friends, though.

Snowy is my friend.

Right?

I just took my usual spot and scrolled through my ManaSync.

This device is addictive.

No matter how much I scroll, there is always something interesting to see.

Time passed before only five minutes to the class were remaining.

Then–

That bastard Alden entered.

His pace was steady, and his face was annoyingly calm.

He took his usual seat.

I looked at him.

I felt annoyed every time I saw him.

He looked in my direction, feeling my gaze. I just averted my gaze.

His gaze didn't stay on me for long as he looked at the front immediately.

Even now he was being an absolute bastard.

I'm going to kill this bastard.
