With that, the man lifted his hand, swiftly straightening his disheveled clothes.

Isabel Smith quickly turned around, shrouding herself in an obscure corner. After a short while, she saw the man depart from the balcony, striding directly into the nearby banquet.

It wasn’t until the man vanished from sight that Isabel ventured out from the dim corner. She glanced around, signaled an attendant nearby, received a glass of red wine from him, and responded with a simple “Thank you.”

The attendant respectfully bowed and brushed off.

Isabel stared at the wine glass for a moment, then turned around, and in her high heels, she headed towards the balcony.

Evelyn Osbert was fixing her clothes when abruptly, the sound of high heels startled her. She swiftly buttoned up the last button of her shirt, made a hasty effort to tidy her hair, and then turned around, wearing a sweet smile. Instantly upon spotting Isabel carrying a wine glass, a flash of surprise came across her face. In the next second, Isabel smirked and taunted Evelyn, “That earlier scene… Tsk tsk tsk…” After her light-hearted sighing, she continued, “Really was quite… scandalous, making it more thrilling than those explicit Japanese clips by far!”

The color drained from Evelyn’s face; she didn’t expect that Isabel, her nemesis, would’ve witnessed her sneaky affair!

A flush still fresh on Evelyn’s face from her recent romantic escapade, she softly clenched her fist. With a flicker in her pitch-black eyes, she appealed to Isabel, putting on an innocent front, “Sister Isabel, I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

Isabel, having grown accustomed to Evelyn’s ability to switch from wanton to innocent at any time, simply smirked, undeterred, “Evelyn, it’s just the two of us on this balcony; there’s no need for pretense. Don’t worry, I didn’t take any pictures or record any videos. Plus, I won’t tell Grandma.”

Evelyn seemingly relaxed a bit but still remained silent.

Adorned with her wine glass, Isabel leisurely took a few steps forward. In a relaxed posture, she leaned on the balcony railing, glanced sideways at Evelyn, and flashed a ravishing smile dripping with sarcasm, “Evelyn, tell me, why didn’t you become an actress instead of trying to play the noble lady in our Smith Family? It really doesn’t suit you.”

Only when no one else was around would Evelyn challenge Isabel. Thus, after hearing Isabel’s words, the soft demeanour on Evelyn’s face vanished immediately, her eyes turned cold and, without flinching, she retorted, “Isabel Smith, since you’re so confrontational, I won’t beat around the bush either. Regardless if I fit the image of a lady of a noble family or not, currently, in the whole of Bellshire City, whenever the Smith Corporation comes up, people think of me, Evelyn Osbert, not you, Isabel Smith, not to mention…”

Evelyn paused then continued, emphasizing each word, “Don’t forget, you were pregnant before marriage at eighteen, this is the greatest shame in Grandma’s heart. Even though you are now attached to Percy Stanton, and may be able to make it back into the Smith Family, it doesn’t mean Grandma has forgiven you, let alone accepted you. You should know better than me that Grandma accepted you only because your engagement to Percy Stanton is beneficial to the Smith Corporation.”
