Chapter 1490 1490: Preparing For Some Reforging
-----
While the issue with the Warlocks was certainly worrying, there wasn't much we could do at the moment other than surveyance. And when Ignis called us because the Forge was ready, we quickly moved underground, the heat of the forge had been unleashed at full power too, its fiery embrace was very hot, to the point it hurt our skin a little bit.
"Sorry for the heat, but this is the lower level I can achieve without harming you two," Ignis said. "I do understand that your true bodies are actually much weaker than your bodies from Arcadia, this is why I tried my best but… Well, a legendary divine forge has to be hot!"
"I understand, don't worry Ignis, haha…" I giggled a bit. "Let's see… Water Spirits and a Spirit Barrier would do."
I created a custom spell by combining runes together and quickly activating it, without even engraving it into my magic circle. It was totally possible to create new effects and forms using existing spells and magic powers.
Although the more complicated they were, the harder it was to keep up without engraving. Super specific spells like the one that summons Ignis, for example, would be way too hard to conjure without engraving it previously.
"{Spiritual Water Veil}!"
FLUOSH!
A veil of transparent water-like essence covered our bodies, with this simple spell, the heat was no problem anymore, as we kept our bodies cold and fresh.
"Ah I see, a useful spell indeed," Ignis nodded. "You're quite good at making spells on the go, master. That is not something most people can even do."
"Really? Well I suppose it's not too hard in my head…" I said. "As long as they're simple enough. And the Water Spirits happily helped too."
"Indeed, it is probably rather convenient that the Spirits favor you, it makes it so magic can be conjured much more easily than usual," explained Ignis. "Now, the forge is ready, which items do you want to improve? What are you planning to do, master?"
We walked towards the fiery forge, as Ignis manifested from the flames, his size had increased to around half our own, much bigger than his previous small form, no bigger than my hand.
"Ah yes, these! They're talking, speaking weapons," I explained to him. "Irene and Morpheus!"
I was carrying them around, but the moment I named them, the two weapons surprised Ignis beginning to float on their own and even talk.
"So this is the guy that'll make me stronger?" Irene wondered.
"Interesting… So you've created a forge, master, that is quite incredible especially in this world," Morpheus said. "Usually you use technology for things, right? A magical forge is quite… different."
"Yeah I mean, I think SWORD creates magical equipment through a combination of technology and magic, but I have no idea how to do that," I shrugged. "So I'll simply use the powers and skills from Arcadia in this world, its simpler and easier at the end of the day. I would rather not go around laboratories asking people to upgrade my weapon. It would make them ask too many questions and it would take too long."
"I agree, it's just not really worth the time and effort," Mark nodded, as he took out his talking knife, which also had the same name as Ignis. I think he accidentally called her the same as the Spirit because he never thought they would meet. "Ignis… This is Ignis, uh, I guess I really gave you the name of this spirit."
"Huh? So you named me after someone else?!" Ignis floated around, flames coming from her small blade. "Master, you're truly quite a lazy person! Couldn't you think of a more original name?!"
"I-I mean, Ignis is a cool name!" Mark muttered. "Sorry though…"
"Hahahaha! I never thought I would meet someone with the same name, it is a rather strange coincidence," laughed Ignis. "Well, nice to meet you three, Irene, Morpheus, and Ignis. My name is… well, Ignis, and I am a Divine Forge Spirit, son of the Blacksmith God Hephaestus. Today we will try to upgrade all of you."
"Sounds great! I can't wait to get stronger; I feel so weak for some reason!" Irene complained.
"I wouldn't say I feel weak, but an upgrade wouldn't be bad, especially now that Master is going to the Dream Plane tomorrow, she'll require my help," Morpheus said.
"Can you make me into a sword instead?" Ignis asked.
"Wait, Ignis, no sword form! That is too big and would be too noticeable in this world. You're good as a small knife, and you can turn into a giant sword with my abilities so there's no point in that," Mark said.
"Eeeeh, but I want to be a sword!" Ignis complained.
"And I said no!" Mark said.
As they discussed, I looked at Ignis, taking out several materials I wanted Irene to assimilate through her new reforging process.
Reforging is a special technique where additional materials are used into a single item to enhance and evolve their current form into a stronger, higher form.
These materials are combined into the item through both Alchemy and Forging Techniques too, and they also have to be magical, of course.
I placed over the table my white wood, the strongest wood my Avatar can produce, Mark's black, metallic wood, my own scales, the feathers from Mark's phoenix form, bones and scales from other dragons we hunted previously, and also the tough bones of demonic beasts.
There was also an assortment of ores and crystals extracted from the Forest of Beginning's mines and the surface area. It wasn't as big as to make it an official ore-producing area, but it had its own little resources I had been collecting.
This included Spirit Mithril, Rainbow Spirit Crystals, Tiem Spirit Crystal, Radiant Stone, and also Sacred Rubies and Abyssal Sapphires, all high-quality ores and crystals, perfect for Reforging.
"I also want to limit her Rank to A+++ Rank at most," I said. "Do you think you can handle this, Ignis?"
"Hmmm… Yes, I think it's possible," he nodded. "We'll simply use less ingredients, but it's totally possible."
"Nice, then let's begin!" I said.
