Blades of the East: Ren’s Journey in One Piece

Chapter 2: Training Under Koshiro

Chapter 2: Training Under Koshiro**

Ren learned **quickly** that having memories of Earth didn’t make things easier.

His eight-year-old body was weak. His sword felt heavy. Every strike Kuina landed **hurt**.

But if there was one thing he had gained from his past life—**it was determination.**

He **studied Koshiro’s teachings** with an intensity that shocked the dojo master.

"Balance first," Koshiro said, placing him on a thin wooden beam.

Ren wobbled, arms flailing. Kuina laughed from below. "You look ridiculous."

Ren **gritted his teeth**. He wouldn’t fall.

Days turned to weeks. His muscles **burned** as he swung his wooden sword **ten thousand times a night** behind the dojo. He wasn’t just learning—**he was forging himself into something stronger.**

Kuina noticed.

"Ren," she said one evening, watching him train alone. "Why are you working so hard?"

He paused. His hands were **red and raw**, his breath heavy.

"Because," he said, staring at his hands, "I don’t want to lose anyone."

She tilted her head. "That’s a weird answer."

  1. But she didn’t press him. Instead, she grabbed her own wooden sword.

"Then train with me."
