Chapter 309: Mystic Silver Lode
When William left from the Millennium Mountains, he did so with twenty four men, seven of whom were in the Trojan War Fox sare shuttle. However, two of them were now dead with two in critical conditions. There was no need to say how he felt at the moment, but William swore to kill everyone involved in this disaster even at the cost of a possible criminal offence.
The two injured men were recovered and sent into the command shuttle, which had a top quality recovery room built inside of it.
Knowing that it was a dangerous move, William gave up chasing after those who had escaped and instead focused his attention on finding the mine.
Of the three sare shuttles in the fleet, the Trojan War Fox was a scout-type sare shuttle equipped with impressive stealth technology, and advanced speed engines. The second shuttle was a sturdy shuttle with stealth capabilities and a powerful attack system. It was the fleet's main attacking and defence force. The last shuttle was the command shuttle and it was a combination of the positive factors of the other two; a state-of-the-art sare shuttle that cost millions.
The formation of their fleet was pretty standard amongst freelancer teams and those who wanted to explore desolate beast domains. As such, when William left Blue Springs City, despite being the Sok of one of the two current vice city lords, it didn't draw much attention from rival forces as they presumed he was simply going out to hunt or train.
Meanwhile, on the command shuttle, William had hidden away some mining equipment which would prove valuable on his expedition. One of them was a powerful scanning tool.
Even though the Heart of Silver had been sensed before by one of his men, the latter only knew about the rough position. Hence, there was a need for William to perform a search operation. Luckily, that wasn't a problem especially since they knew the rough position of the Aión source.
Hundreds of drones suddenly dropped out of the command vessel, scattering around the entire 92B-Delta lode like a swarm of bees [1]. They were light weight and barely produced a sound, forming a strange scene where hundreds of flying objects were in the air, yet the area was silent.
The drones, which were uniquely styled, have a cylindrical body with holes on the bottom facing the surface. One end of the drone was fitted with a camera to provide visual feedback to the monitoring party. These drones were common mining equipment in Eretre used by freelancers and pioneers in the wild to search for resources in foreign regions.
From the holes at the bottom, a unique wave is sent downwards to the ground and even deeper in. Similar to radar, this wave scans the entire area. But it wasn't just a simple scan for objects, but one aimed at finding substances with stellar energy signatures. This was given off by rare minerals and metals. As such, the aim of these drones was to search for such items.
With a large existing database of various stellar signatures given off by rare minerals and materials, it became possible to identify what was beneath the ground based on those stellar signatures and wavelengths. This was why using these drones was the most efficient way of looking for resources in the wild.
"Mystic Silver signatures have been spotted all over the place. This entire region is a mystic silver lode." The man in charge of monitoring the scan results from the drones exclaimed.
His shock was understandable after all, Mystic Silver was an important element that could be used in manufacturing Grade 4 vestiges, hover shuttles and star ships. Its value was immense.
Even William couldn't remain calm upon hearing such news.
If the Ernst family could take control of this lode, they could easily rise to a much higher position than they were now; even rivalling the Blue Springs City's city lord family would not be impossible. With proper management and leadership, the Ernst family might become another Lester family, exceeding the influence of the Oklo Dynasty.
And as the one behind this discovery, William would be praised by his father and put in charge of the operation. He was already destined to takeover from his father as vice city lord, but with the foreseeable rise in power of his family, he could even build a brand new city of his own.
"Focus. We need to find the Aión source first, then we can figure out how to handle the Mystic Silver. It's not like it will be running away any time soon."
Worthy of his potential and abilities, William was able to regain his composure and dish out the right orders to his team.
Their target was the Aión source, which was even more valuable than the entire Mystic Silver lode. The lode could build a powerful family, but without the power to defend themselves, their family would be pressured to give it up. The Aión source could give them this power.
The Aión source could be used to produce a Grade 6 vestige, or even a high grade synthetic drug that could directly improve a hyuman's m(o)DNA count, raising their potential greatly. Even if the Ernst family wasn't able to do any of that, they could hand it over to the Emperor in exchange for exclusive mining rights and control over the Mystic Silver lode, as well as protection from other forces. With the value of the Aión source, the Emperor would definitely agree to this exchange as he wouldn't be losing out.
No matter which choice it was, the value of the Aión source couldn't be underestimated.
"A bizarre signature has been spotted by drone A-121 in sector 3." The man reported again.
Thanks to the information of the previous two parties, a rough map of the area was made and William's team had divided the areas in the region into sectors. Such division made it easier for their search to be organised and thanks to that they were fruitful.
But just as the news was released, another member of the team abruptly yelled out.
"We have an incoming vessel."
The radar map of the region was immediately displayed in front of William, and on it, an icon was moving towards their location.
What do you think?
