Beast Taming: Starting From Zero

Chapter 635: The Black Glass Bottle

The Phantom Slash appeared too eerily. At this moment, Qiao Sang still had Lubao perched on her head.

Sensing danger, Qiao Sang and Lubao simultaneously looked up.

The Phantom Slash was already descending.

"Watch out!" Tim, sitting in the back, gasped in alarm, his pupils contracting.

Little Treasure turned his head at the commotion.

Just as he did, Qiao Sang was struck by a streak of purple light, letting out a muffled grunt as she was knocked down.

Fortunately, her lower back landed on Yabao’s soft fur, sparing her from secondary injuries.

As she was about to look up to see what had happened, a wave of excruciating pain suddenly spread through her body.

The pain was so intense and sudden that Qiao Sang's vision went black, nearly preventing her from getting up.

Luckily, the pain vanished as quickly as it came.

Propping herself up, Qiao Sang looked over and saw a blue blade slashing against Gangbao’s body.

In an instant, she understood what had happened.

Gangbao had taken the hit for her, knocking her and Lubao out of the Phantom Slash’s path. However, because Gangbao had evolved through their bond, the pain was synchronized and transferred to her as well…

"Gang Guard!"

Gangbao let out a miserable cry and plummeted downward.

"Yabao!" Qiao Sang called out in a slight panic.

Her instinctive worry made her forget that she could have recalled Gangbao directly into her Beastmaster Codex.

"Yap yap!"

Yabao responded and dashed downward.

Wherever he passed, the fiery rain scattered aside.

In no time, Yabao caught Gangbao steadily.

"Lu."

As soon as Gangbao landed on Yabao’s back, Lubao immediately cast Healing Light.

A blue glow enveloped Gangbao.

When the light faded, Gangbao looked fully revitalized.

T-T-That fast?! Tim stared, dumbfounded.

"Are you okay?"

"Gang Guard?"

Qiao Sang and Gangbao spoke at the same time.

Qiao Sang paused, not expecting Gangbao to ask if she was alright.

Me? What could possibly be wrong with me? You took the hit… Qiao Sang felt her eyes sting but smiled and said, "I'm fine."

"Gang Guard…"

Gangbao recalled the pained expression on her Beastmaster’s face and knew she wasn’t being truthful. She sighed, silently vowing to train harder on defensive skills in the future.

"You…" Qiao Sang felt a warmth in her heart and instantly understood Gangbao’s thoughts.

Then, she turned her gaze upward, her face emotionless, toward the man currently being flung around like a rag doll by Little Treasure's Shadow Control.

After executing Phantom Slash, Moonlam had been bombarded by a dense shower of fire sparks, leaving it unconscious.

Meanwhile, Little Treasure had turned his head just in time to witness Gangbao being struck.

Realizing his Beastmaster had almost been attacked, Little Treasure's expression darkened with fury, and he began swinging the man around like a toy.

"N-No… yue…"

"I was wro—yue…"

Dick’s head spun, nausea overwhelming him.

For a moment, he resented Moonlam for casting Phantom Slash in such a poor position.

If only the Phantom Slash had landed where this ghost-type pet could see it first, he could’ve broken free from the Shadow Control…

Qiao Sang simply watched the man being tossed around expressionlessly.

Behind her, Tim dared not utter a single word.

Ever since he witnessed a supposedly powerful Beastmaster from his organization being taken down in mere moments, he understood, this little Beastmaster before him was far stronger than he had imagined.

Someone like her… might help if she was in a good mood, but if not, she could just as easily abandon him the next second.

"Xun Xun!"

Little Treasure swung the man even harder.

Bad guy! Big bad guy!

Various items flew out from the man’s pockets.

A wallet, papers, and a black glass bottle…

The moment the black glass bottle was flung out, Little Treasure seemed to catch a whiff of something enticing. His nose twitched involuntarily.

Seeing the bottle falling, he extended a dark shadow, snatching it midair and pulling it toward himself.

"Alright, let’s go." Qiao Sang's gaze remained on the man. Seeing him foaming at the mouth and unconscious, she knew he was thoroughly knocked out.

"Xun Xun~"

Little Treasure nodded, tucking away the black glass bottle while tossing the man onto Yabao’s back.

"Just keep their hands tied with Shadow Control to prevent them from waking up midway." Qiao Sang instructed cautiously.

"Xun Xun!"

Little Treasure chirped, promising to complete the task.

Feeling reassured, Qiao Sang pulled out her phone and started navigating.

On Yabao’s back, Lubao stared blankly at the unconscious man for a few seconds before suddenly slapping his face with her tail.

"Gang Guard."

Gangbao suddenly had a thought and extended her wing to stop Lubao.

"Lu?"

Lubao looked puzzled.

"Gang Guard."

Gangbao let out a call, indicating that Lubao’s method wouldn't do much harm. Instead, she plucked one of her own feathers and swiftly sliced through the man’s hair.

Strands of black hair fell to the ground.

It… shaved his head bald…

Tim shuddered at the sight, shrinking back to reduce his presence.

That feather was so sharp, if it wasn’t wielded carefully, blood would surely spurt…

As Gangbao stared at the man’s smooth, egg-like head, she pondered for a moment, still feeling unsatisfied.

Then, an idea struck him. Her eyes lit up, and with a few swift motions of her feather, she cleanly shaved off the man’s eyebrows as well.

"Gang Guard."

Gangbao lowered her feather, looking pleased with her work.

"Lu."

Lubao suddenly understood and nodded, indicating that she had learned something new.

"Xun Xun~"

Little Treasure, watching the scene from the side, covered his mouth and giggled. Then, his attention shifted back to the black glass bottle still in his grasp.

"Xun Xun…"

Curious, he popped open the bottle’s cap.

An overwhelmingly enticing scent rushed out.

His curiosity won over, and Little Treasure stuck out his tongue to taste it.

Unexpectedly, the contents seemed to be a gas, before he could react, the entire vapor-like substance rushed into his mouth.

"Xun… hic!"

Little Treasure's face instantly flushed red, resembling someone who had drunk alcohol. He even let out a small hiccup.

Qiao Sang sat at the front, focused on navigation and giving directions, completely unaware of what was happening behind her.

Ever since dealing with the two blockers, the road had been exceptionally smooth, with no further obstacles.

Soon, Yabao followed the navigation to the police station.

Finally here… Qiao Sang sighed in relief, feeling like a burden had been lifted.

Since pulling the boy off the subway, three different groups had attempted to stop them, far more troublesome than she had expected.

But now, it was all about to end…

Qiao Sang dismounted from Yabao and turned to say:

"We've arriv- Little Treasure?! What’s wrong with you?!"

She was stunned to see Little Treasure flushed red and lying as if drunk.

"Xun Xun…"

Little Treasure mumbled, smacking his lips, too dazed to respond.

"It seemed to inhale something just now, and then it became like this." Tim carefully explained.

Inhaled something? Where did it come from? Qiao Sang frowned, worried.

Forget it, priority is to get this boy to the police station first…

With a wave of her hand, she recalled Little Treasure into the Beastmaster Codex. Then, she turned and said:

"We've arriv-"

She froze mid-sentence.

What the?!

Who could tell her who this bald, egg-headed man was?!
