Beast Tamer Ascension

Book 4: Chapter 87: Fierce Battle in the Sea of Clouds

Vol 4 Chapter 87: Fierce Battle in the Sea of Clouds

“What the h*ll.”

After taking out the Wind Phoenix Banner, the Holy Son of Wu God Hall had effectively countered the Weapon Spirit’s flying sword attack. But what left him dumbfounded was that, in the very next instant, his connection with the banner was severed. The entire banner flew toward the tortoise along with the wind, showing not even a shred of loyalty to him.

Meanwhile, the flying sword from earlier turned against the wind, curved midair, and once again turned into a streak of rainbow light rushing straight at him.

“Wind Phoenix Banner, return!”

“Return!”

“Come back to me!”

Completely ignoring the incoming flying sword, the Holy Son of Wu God Hall just wanted to know—why the hell his banner wasn’t listening to him anymore.

That banner had been gifted by Lord Wu God...

It mustn’t be taken!

Then he saw it— the tortoise’s shell actually opened like a pot lid, swallowing the Wind Phoenix Banner right into its body. The Holy Son of Wu God Hall finally lost it.

“What the hell did you just do?” His eyes narrowed as he extended his arm, and with a bang, grabbed the flying sword coming at him at the speed of light. The moment he grasped the supreme flying sword’s blade, its sword light burst apart like a meteor shower. The sword light that hit the ground easily carved out countless cracks in the earth. But when it landed on the Holy Son, it only left shallow red scratches across his body, each one instantly healed by a flash of white light.

Chomp, chomp.

The flying sword trembled, trying to escape his grip. But the Holy Son’s hand was like a mountain, pinning it down completely.

Seeing this, the Mechanical Tortoise was genuinely surprised. So this Holy Son of Wu God Hall had some skills—he could casually grab a supreme flying sword and ignore its blade damage with just his flesh?

Clearly, relying solely on supreme magical treasures wasn’t enough to beat this guy.

The Mechanical Tortoise grew serious… The Beast Tamer had really given it a tough mission.

Still, both were at the early stage of Nascent Soul Transformation, and the Mechanical Tortoise didn’t believe it would lose to this guy.

“Give me back my Wind Phoenix Banner, or don’t even think about getting your flying sword back,” the Holy Son barked, clenching the struggling sword tightly.

But his threat didn’t faze the Mechanical Tortoise at all. Trading a soulless flying sword for a supreme banner with a spirit? Totally worth it!

Besides, the Mechanical Tortoise didn’t believe the opponent could snatch its treasure anyway.

“Screee!”

The next instant, to test the Holy Son’s limits, the Mechanical Tortoise skipped past supreme treasures and pulled out a genuine quasi-immortal artifact—a long whip made from the tail of some unknown creature, covered in venomous barbs.

The Gu God Sect had no true immortal artifacts, but they did have quite a few quasi-immortal ones. This whip, the Poison God Whip, was one of them. Now it had become one of Lin Jing’s trophies.

Under the Mechanical Tortoise’s control, the whip released a terrifying aura that made the Holy Son’s expression shift dramatically.

“Gu God Sect’s treasure… the Poison God Whip…”

Before he could think further, the whip lashed out through the air. With a flash of violet light, the Holy Son was sent flying, his beast-hide robe torn open, a deep gash blooming on his chest, red blood bubbling with purple venom boiling out like magma.

“Ugh.” The Holy Son spat out a mouthful of poisonous blood, clutching his chest. He immediately cast White Witchcraft to detoxify himself while locking eyes on the Mechanical Tortoise, which had already retracted the Poison God Whip…

“A remnant of the Gu God Sect… or could it be…”

In the next moment, the Poison God Whip lashed out madly—eighteen consecutive strikes from the air. The Holy Son’s eyes widened. Even he could barely activate a quasi-immortal artifact. Maybe once he reached the Void Mystical Stage, he could do it. But that Nascent Soul Mechanical Tortoise? It was swinging that thing around like a blade of grass. How?!

“Is it the Demon Court Holy Son’s sword pet??”

Using substitution witchcraft, the Holy Son scrambled to avoid the whip, turning into a stone figure, then a scarecrow, then various beasts—appearing in different locations one after another. While dodging, he came to a realization.

“I’ve never heard of the Gu God Sect using mechanical beasts… then you must be Lin Jing’s pet. He’s the one who dared to attack the Gu God Sect with that strange ability to activate immortal artifacts across realms.”

“With help from several Dao-Seeking Demon Emperors, he really did wipe out the Gu God Sect.”

“This Poison God Whip—besides showing up in the hands of Gu God Sect survivors—would most likely end up with Lin Jing.”

“According to the Destiny Gold List, one of Lin Jing’s pets has already made it onto the list. So you’re here trying to defeat me on your own and claim a spot independently from your master?”

After deducing the Mechanical Beast’s origins and intent, the Holy Son snorted coldly. The next instant, the ground behind the Mechanical Tortoise exploded. A youth identical to the Holy Son—except for his gray hair—leapt out from the earth vein.

His gray hair and eyes gave him a grim look, and the runes on his face were more complex. His fierce gaze locked onto the Mechanical Tortoise.

“You’ve been bullying my clone long enough. Now it’s my turn.” In a single thought, the Holy Son fused his clone back into his true body.

With a roar, the real Holy Son cast a divine image technique, growing to a hundred meters tall. This wasn’t a normal projection—his massive form resembled a god descending from the heavens. His face transformed into that of a green-faced titan, and divine runes covered his body.

Divine Spirit Projection!

BOOM!

A giant divine hand slammed toward the Mechanical Tortoise.

The Poison God Whip lashed out again, leaving blood trails on the divine hand, but the poison had no effect.

This projection completely nullified toxins—it was a direct counter to the Poison God Whip!

But what stunned the Holy Son was—the damn turtle, seeing its Poison God Whip countered, actually summoned a second quasi-immortal artifact!

And this time, it activated both simultaneously!

Another treasure from the Gu God Sect—this one was a black bottle, a sealing tool used by the sect to trap deadly poison bugs.

“Seal!!!” the Mechanical Tortoise raised its head and bellowed.

“You d*mn turtle…” the Holy Son couldn’t believe it. Just activating one quasi-immortal artifact was ridiculous enough—and now this thing was using two, without a single drop in power?

With a loud boom, the divine might of the Holy Son’s projection was still no match for the power of a quasi-immortal artifact. His true body was sucked right into the bottle. But as the Mechanical Tortoise carried the trembling bottle on its back, it realized the Holy Son had used some kind of witchcraft—the bottle hadn’t sealed away his power, only temporarily captured him.

Right now, the Holy Son was struggling inside, ready to burst out at any moment.

Seeing this, the Mechanical Tortoise was just about to add a little “special sauce” into the bottle—when the surrounding void shattered, and an old man with bird feathers sticking out of his head stormed out, furious.

“Fear not, Holy Son! I’m here to save you!!”

Who the hell are you!?

The Mechanical Tortoise looked blankly at the Void Mystical Stage elder bursting through space, annoyed that this old guy was interfering in its duel.

“Go away.”

Not wanting the outcome of the fight affected by outsiders, the Mechanical Tortoise instantly activated its third quasi-immortal artifact!

A treasure shaped like a compass.

It was the very same treasure that had caused the great academy relocation back then—an immortal palace teleportation artifact. Whether it was the same one or a copy was unknown.
