Chapter 115: Chapter 115: Liu Xixi Goes Offline (Part 2)

Ji Chao and Ji Ze were ushered onto Song Henian’s car.

Pain was evident in the latter’s eyes.

Upon receiving the news, he immediately called Lu Xining, but the line was busy. He ordered the driver to hurry, yet they were still a step too late.

When Lu Xining arrived, she witnessed the scene unfold.

Chen Li was there too, her eyes flaming with hatred as she commanded the men in black to rush forward.

Chen Li grabbed the walkie-talkie to up the ante for everyone, “Kill those two kids and I’ll add another thirty million!”

Lu Xining swiftly spun her car around and rammed straight into them, her car’s momentum causing Chen Li’s eyes to roll back as the airbags deployed.

Just then, in the rearview mirror.

She saw several cars speeding from the distance, which, if she wasn’t mistaken, were Ji Muye’s men.

Song Henian had brought a significant number of people, who promptly blocked Chen Li’s men, but still, bodyguards operating within legal norms couldn’t quite match the desperadoes, and it wasn’t long before they got hurt.

Ji Chao and Ji Ze sat in the back seat with their seatbelts fastened by Song Henian, who calmly instructed the driver to avoid direct confrontation where possible.

He received a message that Ji Muye was on his way.

The incident was unexpected, and Song Henian was only informed about Chen Li’s move against Lu Xining while he was on his way to the airport, so he didn’t bring many people with him.

Chen Li’s driver thought Lu Xining was insane; he’d never seen anyone drive so recklessly!

The situation wasn’t looking any better for Lu Xining.

She was wedged between the seat and the steering wheel, the airbag already popped out, and a warm liquid dribbled down her forehead.

With the driver’s side mirror smashed, she couldn’t see what was happening behind, but thinking of her two six-year-old sons, she mustered her strength to try and push the car door.

However, the door was jammed inward, and her strength was futile without someone from the outside to pry it open.

One drop, two drops, three drops… the smell of gasoline infiltrated her nostrils, and the world before her eyes began to blur and spin.

Through it all, she glimpsed a woman with a scar-covered face holding a dark, prohibited item outside her window.

It was… Liu Xixi.

“Lu Xining, I’ve finally waited for this day!”

Her expression was manic, like a ghoul returned from hell, with the cold barrel of a gun pressed against Lu Xining’s temple.

The countdown to death ticked in her ear.

“Why did you have to appear, why did you come back!”

“Do you have any idea how much I’ve had to suffer, how many sacrifices I’ve made to convince Aye that I’m different from the Liu Family people?”

“If it wasn’t for you, I’d be the mistress of the Ji Family by now, and he and I would have had our own children!”

Her hand shook uncontrollably with emotion, her shrill voice pounding against Lu Xining’s eardrums, which perversely brought her a measure of clarity.

“Liu Xixi, not loving you is Ji Muye’s issue, why blame me?”

Liu Xixi, like a beast out of control, shook the gun, “No, it’s your fault!”

“Seven years ago, and again now, you’ve destroyed my happiness twice!”

Her eyes opened, and warm blood trickled down her cheeks; one drop landing on her eyelashes, tinging the world in front of her red.

“That’s bullshit!”

Lu Xining seemed oblivious to the item pressed against her temple, sneering coldly at the emotionally unstable Liu Xixi.

“For all those years you were close to him before I came along, you couldn’t make him like you—how is that any business of mine?”

Her head leaned against the headrest, and with one hand, she reached for the button to adjust the seat while the other crept towards the Swiss knife beside her.

Liu Xixi yelled, “Shut up! Shut up!”

“You shouldn’t be alive, neither should those two bastards, Ji Chao and Ji Ze. You all deserve to die!”

Her expression on her face gradually became more fierce, yet in the next second she heard Ji Muye’s tense and anxious voice.

“Xixi!”

The man’s voice was filled with anger, as fierce as a tempest, and if one listened carefully, a slight tremble could be detected.

Xixi turned her head, looking towards the man rapidly approaching her.

In the hazy night, his tall figure loomed like a dark emperor, commanding a powerful presence with each step weighted with surges of rage and oppression.

Her eyes revealed an obsessive fascination, concealing madness and reluctance, as she loudly commanded him, “Don’t come closer! Or else I’ll kill her!”

After seeing the weapon in Xixi’s hand, the man’s pupils constricted and nervousness flooded him like floodgates opening, immediately halting his steps.

Ji Muye: “Xixi, don’t be impulsive.”

“Aye… Ji Muye! How could you treat me like this? How could you! I’ve loved you for over ten years, no, for over twenty!”

Through the cold black hole pressed against her temple, Lu Xining could feel the slight trembling of Xixi’s body.

She alternated between crying and cursing hysterically, as if wanting to vent all her emotions at that moment.

Ji Muye’s gaze remained fixated on her weapon-holding hand, his thin lips tightly pressed, listening in breathless silence, unable to contain the spreading panic.

“Aye, you don’t love Lu Xi, do you?”

The man silently watched her finger on the trigger, behind him stood the clashing forces of both parties and the Ji Family’s bodyguards protecting him.

Xixi’s hand pressing against Lu Xi’s temple tightened, and she revealed a maniacal smile, “Say it! Say you don’t love her! Otherwise, I’ll blow her away!”

Ji Muye: “Does it matter?”

His body was swept with intense emotion, and he suddenly smiled, disregarding her threat and stepped closer, quickly reaching her presence.

His words stunned Xixi for a moment, but she quickly responded.

Her eyes blazed with fury, her emotions agitated, “Don’t come closer! I’ll really do it!”

Ji Muye seemed indifferent to Lu Xi’s current plight, his eyes cold, his voice devoid of emotional fluctuation, “Xixi, whether or not Lu Xi is here, I will never like you, but if you kill her…”

He suddenly stopped mid-sentence.

Xixi asked urgently, “What would you do?”

Ji Muye smirked: “Then I will remember her for a lifetime.”

“Perhaps in my memories, I might suddenly fall in love with her, over and over… millions of times.”

Inside the car, the wound on Lu Xining’s forehead stopped bleeding.

She made her preparations inconspicuously, ready to act at any moment, and through a shattered piece of rearview mirror, she saw the man’s finger tapping against his thigh.

It was Morse code.

Ji Muye: “When I say move, flatten the seat.”

Ji Muye: “Cough twice if you understand.”

He wasn’t sure if Lu Xining had seen it, but he repeated the message over and over until he heard her cough twice in quick succession.

Xixi was confused by Ji Muye’s words. She wanted to know whether he loved Lu Xi, yet didn’t want him to remember this woman for a lifetime.

“Aye, I’ve loved you for so many years, why doesn’t your heart flutter, is it made of ice?”

The woman’s voice was too sad, yet it failed to move Ji Muye.

He looked at Xixi indifferently and said, “Just put down what’s in your hand now, and I guarantee that my lawyers will help you get a lighter sentence.”

The moment tears couldn’t be held back any longer, Xixi forcefully pulled the trigger, “I don’t need a lighter sentence, I want this bitch’s life!”

Ji Muye: “Move!”

Lu Xining pressed the button to lower the driver’s seat fiercely, but realized it was suddenly stuck. In the critical moment, she leaned towards the steering wheel.

Her ears were grazed by a scorching temperature, and the instant she felt the pain, her hand holding the knife had already stabbed deeply into Xixi’s arm.
