The First Fracture
Elior couldn’t focus.
Even as Lisa rambled on about tech stuff and school drama, his thoughts kept circling back to that notification.

That suited man across the street had vanished into thin air. He wasn’t human—not in any normal sense.
And the system knew it.
Lisa leaned closer. “Hey. Are you actually hearing anything I’m saying, or are you dissociating into another dimension right now?”
He blinked. “Sorry. It’s just… a lot.”
“You really saw a monster?”
He nodded. “Fire hound. Almost died. Some secret group saved me. They gave me this.”
He pulled the black card from his hoodie and slid it across the table.
Lisa picked it up, squinting at the runes etched into the surface. “This looks like something out of a dark fantasy RPG…”
“It’s real,” he said. “It did something to me. My body… it’s faster. Stronger. I can feel it changing me.”
Lisa was quiet for a second. Then leaned in again, lowering her voice.
“I need you to take this seriously, okay? I’ve been hearing rumors. Weird ones.”
Elior narrowed his eyes. “Like what?”
“Online forums. Obscure places. Whispers about something called the Ascension Protocol. People disappearing. System awakenings. Government blackouts. And some kind of interplanetary—”
She paused.
Elior froze. “Say that again.”
“Interplanetary,” she said slowly. “Like, other worlds. Other civilizations. There’s even this old conspiracy about how Earth is sealed—cut off from the rest of the galaxy.”
His heart skipped.
Other worlds… strong people beyond Earth…
It matched everything those silver-haired people hinted at.
Lisa sat back and sipped her drink. “I always thought it was just clickbait, but now—”
[System Alert: SURGE DETECTED – THREAT LEVEL: ORANGE]
His body locked up. Everything blurred.
Time slowed.
And then… screams.
Glass shattered. A man at the café’s entrance was thrown through the window, skidding across the floor like a ragdoll.
Smoke followed.
A creature stepped in—humanoid, armored in obsidian plates, with eyes like burning coal and veins glowing blue.

Everyone ran.
Lisa grabbed his hand. “RUN—!”
But Elior didn’t move.
The parasite looked straight at him… and grinned.
It’s here for me.
He felt the heat build up in his chest again—the system pulsing like a second heart.
[Emergency System Sync Override Activated – Combat Protocol 01 Engaged]
[Ability Seed: Reactivating...]
And suddenly…
He could see everything.
Every muscle twitch of the parasite.
Every angle of possible evasion.
Every weak point in its armor.
[Trait Activated: Combat Foresight Lv.1]
Elior stepped forward.
His heart was pounding. Not with fear—but adrenaline.
“Lisa. Get behind m
e.”
“…What are you doing?” she whispered.
“I think I’m about to stop pretending I’m normal.”
What do you think?
