Apocalyptic Disasters: Carrying a bun and hoarding supplies

Lei Qian raised his head and looked at Dacheng. With a raise of his brows, he questioned, "And what do you mean by that?" Lei Qian grew up as a very opinionated person. As long as he made up his mind, no one was allowed to change his decision. This was the reason that his parents never asked him to go on a blind date.

They knew that he had someone in his heart and thus never pushed him to look for another woman, for they knew that Lei Qian would never accept it. Even his parents never forced him to make a decision that he didn't want to. So, who did Dacheng think he was?

Dacheng smiled at him and said in an oily tone, "It's nothing, Leader Lei; I was just asking you to be a bit more kind towards Miss Lu. You might never know; you might realize someday that the pearl you were chasing was nothing but a fisheye."

Though he didn't mention any names, the contempt in his tone was enough to make Lei Qian stare at the man with a hint of annoyance and anger. He said to him, "And why does it matter to you? This is my life and not yours; even if I make a mistake, I will be the one who will own up to it. Who do you think you are to warn me and even ask me to heed your warning?"

"I was just asking you to keep your options open and not to pin yourself on the same tree—"

"Do I need you to tell me this?" Lie Qian sneered as he looked at the man with a mocking smile on his face. "I am unlike those men who play with one and marry someone else. My parents taught me to respect women, which means that I will never do such a thing as look at the pot when I am eating from the bowl!"

"That…" Dacheng looked at Lei Qian with a stunned look on his face. He parted his lips, ready to deliver the shocking news of Bai Meiyue's pregnancy. But then he swallowed his words right back.

This was not the time to disclose Bai Meiyue's pregnancy to Lei Qian. He was going to wait until Bai Meiyue could no longer deny it and then drop the bomb in front of Lei Qian. He was sure that once Lei Qian found out the truth about the good things that Bai Meiyue had done, he would definitely not treat him like this. In fact, he might be able to become his closest aide!

With that thought, he pursed his lips and held back his anger. He turned and looked at Bai Meiyue; that woman was not looking at him at all and seemed rather calm as she discussed the matter of carrying the instruments with Doctor Cui and the rest.

Her indifferent attitude made Dacheng quite angry. However, given the situation, there was nothing that he could do at the moment!

He turned around on his feet and headed back to his truck, ignoring the many gazes that were being cast on him.

As for Lei Qian, he didn't care about Lu Yin getting hurt by his words; he knew that she was a natural fixer who thought that he needed her help. But the truth was not that he didn't need her help at all. Nor did he need any kind of fixing. He was cold and antisocial from childhood.

That didn't mean that he was suffering from any kind of trauma.

He exhaled in annoyance and then went to look for Bai Meiyue. When he saw that she was still talking with Doctor Cui and the two of them seemed quite close, he pursed his lips and walked over before placing his hand on her waist in a domineering manner.

"What are you talking about so intensely?" he asked while looking at Doctor Cui. Although he didn't say a word, his gaze was enough to make Doctor Cui's scalp tingle.

He raised his head and looked at Lei Qian, who was looking at him as if he were looking at his love rival, and a chill crawled up his spine.

Bai Meiyue turned her head upwards and glanced at the man who was looking at Doctor Cui as if he wanted to eat him alive and elbowed him. She said to him, "Be polite. We were only discussing the vaccine that Doctor Cui was trying to make when he was locked up in the hospital."

She paused and added, "Just because you had a lover's quarrel with Miss Lu, you shouldn't worry; poke your nose in other people's business."

When Lei Qian heard Bai Meiyue's words, his first reaction was that Bai Meiyue had bad intentions. He looked at her defensively and said to her, "My dear, I always treat you with such sincerity and you actually say such harsh words to me. When did I have a lover's quarrel with Ah Yin?"

"Hah, you say that you didn't have any lovers quarrel with her but you call her quite sweetly," Bai Meiyue sneered. She then turned on her feet and walked away without paying attention to the man. She heard every word that Lei Qian spoke to Lu Yin, but she deliberately teased him for all the teasing he did that night.

When Lei Qian saw her walk away, he was dumbstruck. He knew that she had bad intentions; just look at this. The second she spoke, firecrackers burst from her mouth.

He turned to look at Doctor Cui and said to him, "Stay away from her, alright?"

After speaking, he turned on his feet and chased after Bai Meiyue leaving Doctor Cui to stare at him with his mouth agape. After a short pause, he recovered his composure and shook his head.

Who would have thought that one day he would see the heir of the Lei family chasing after a woman and that too so pathetically?
