Chapter 799: Chapter 400: The National Security Bureau Chief Candidate_2

While the meeting carried on for nearly two hours, it eventually scattered.

However, at the end, the CIA’s Elvis, Sean, and the Ivanka father-daughter duo lingered, seeming to have more to discuss.

“Inspector David, the midterm elections are a big deal, but there’s something I think we must address now,” Elvis spoke up first.

“What is it?”

“The National Security Agency made the move against those senators’ families last time, and in this midterm election, this department will undoubtedly play a critical role for The Big Three Groups. So, my thought is that we need to get this department under control first, which would be more advantageous for us!”

“You have a point…”

David, cradling his chin in one hand, pondered for a moment and then said, “Their director, Edgar, is a member of the Illuminati. Who else is there?”

“There’s Deputy Director Gransham, Intelligence Chief Webber…”

Elvis rattled off the names of five or six NSA high-level officials in one go.

“Okay, when the time comes, give me their personal information and whereabouts. I’ll take care of it.”

“No problem, then I’ll get back to busy!”

Knowing the remaining two had more to say to David, Elvis didn’t linger and promptly left the room.

The remaining Sean and Tomlinson exchanged glances before the former turned to David, “Inspector David, of course, the midterm election is the most pressing issue, but if we could ‘cut off’ the Federal Reserve’s financial support, they would crumble on their own!”

The Kennedy Family bore a deep grudge against Freemasonry—the offshore tax evasion law was a harsh retaliation against Freemasonry. If they could strip the cherished Federal Reserve from these individuals, it would certainly be a great relief.

“The logic is sound, but the offshore tax evasion law has just passed, and our Internal Revenue Service has a lot of things to deal with at the moment. I’m afraid we can’t spare the effort for this right now. Moreover, the Federal Reserve’s reach is extensive, and we must be fully prepared before taking action. Otherwise, it could wreak havoc on our nation’s financial system, and that’s a mess we don’t want to deal with.”

The Federal Reserve controlled the world’s economic lifeblood and was not to be easily moved.

If he acted rashly and the Freemasonry manipulated the Federal Reserve, it could easily increase the pressure on him and the Internal Revenue Service.

Before acting against it, full preparations had to be made!

“This… alright then…”

Kennedy, though eager to crush Freemasonry immediately, had to suppress his impulse after hearing David’s response.

David turned to the Ivanka father-daughter duo, asking, “Mr. Tomlinson, do you have anything else to add?”

“Hehe…”

Tomlinson chuckled slyly and said, “Nothing much, I wanted to hear about the Federal Reserve too, but you’ve already answered Mr. Tomlinson, so I don’t have anything to ask.”

Actually, he would love to deal with the Federal Reserve once he took office, so the credit would partly go to him. Naturally, David’s response pleased him.

“Alright, let’s leave it at that!”

In the following days, the local snakes—the family bosses—followed David’s instructions, trying to control the situation of the midterm elections in their states.

As for David himself, he began to gather dirt on the high-level officials of the National Security Agency and then gradually released information through the media channels under his control.

Internal Revenue Service Inspector General’s Office.

“Alright, Elvis, I’ll consider this Makunta you’ve mentioned.”

“Inspector David, Makunta definitely has the capability, and he has assured me he’ll be utterly loyal to us if he gets to be the director of the National Security Agency. There’s no doubt about it…”

“Mhm, I said I’ll consider him. Can you give me some time, Elvis?”

“This… okay, Inspector David, just let me know whenever you decide.”

“I know, let’s leave it at that.”

Ever since he had released the incriminating information about the higher-ups of the National Security Bureau, Elvis had contacted him multiple times and recommended a friend of his, hoping he could help this friend ascend to a higher position.

However, as the National Security Bureau was indeed a department with real power and enforcement, David naturally planned to control it indirectly, but as for the choice of person, he still needed to consider it carefully.

Elvis was now the Chief of the CIA’s Intelligence Agency, and in the future, David planned to gradually support him to the position of director. At that time, if Elvis indirectly controlled the National Security Bureau as well, the concentration of power would be too great, and that would not be beneficial for him.

While eating a pizza, Malcolm passed a slice to David and then said, “It seems like Elvis is also eager to extend his reach into the National Security Bureau!”

“Nonsense, he is already the Chief of the CIA’s Intelligence Agency. If his people take control of the National Security Bureau as well, then one could say his power would be overwhelming!”

“You’re right, Elvis is trustworthy, but sometimes appointment of personnel requires balance of power, especially in such intelligence agencies; we have to be even more cautious!”

Simmons and Bucky, sitting nearby, also chimed in with their comments.

However, after they spoke, their glances turned to David, curious for his response.

Before David could say anything, however, his phone rang again.

Seeing that the caller was Sean, David paused and then answered.

“Sorry to bother you, Inspector David, I hope I’m not interrupting your work with my sudden call?”

“No, you’re not. What is it, Mr. Sean?”

“I saw the news—the incriminating information about those high-level officials of the National Security Bureau has been released by you. I guess they’re pretty much finished, aren’t they?”

David had already had his suspicions, and now, hearing this, it was as he expected!

After all, the National Security Bureau was a department with real authority, and not just Elvis was coveting it—the Kennedy family was no exception.

Setting aside his other thoughts, David replied, “There’s still some follow-up work to be done. Why, Mr. Sean, do you have any thoughts?”

“Hehe.”

Sean chuckled and said, “You see, if these guys are toppled, then I think it’s best we get our own people in to take over. So, do you have any suitable candidates?”

“Not currently.”

Hearing this, Sean was overjoyed and continued, “Inspector David, the position of the director of the National Security Bureau is no small matter. It must be someone we trust implicitly. If you don’t have a suitable candidate, I have one—a completely trustworthy person. Once he’s in power, he can definitely integrate the department quickly and help us deal with The Big Three Groups!”

Hearing this, David showed some interest and asked, “Your candidate—who is he?”

“Tomlinson Sylvester!”

“Tomlinson Sylvester?”

Upon hearing the name, David repeated it while signaling Nisen with his eyes.

Nisen immediately opened Gugo, entered the name, and Tomlinson Sylvester’s personal information popped up.

Nisen then held the phone up for David to see.

Soon, David knew who he was.

He was none other than the former Chief of the CIA’s Intelligence Agency during George W. Bush’s presidency!

Only, afterward, with the end of Bush’s term,

he had been removed by the new powers that be.

“Yes, he’s been a good friend of mine, previously worked in the CIA, familiar with the CIA’s operating systems and rules. He’s definitely capable in the National Security Bureau, and most importantly, as I said, he is a trustworthy person. If we support him in taking power, he will surely be utterly loyal to us. I think he’s a very suitable candidate, we can use him!”

Sean continued to advocate from his end of the phone.
