Chapter 22: Clash of the Legendaries

Jiang Shuying’s heart pounded as she watched the three Pokémon battling fiercely in the sky, yet there was no sign of Chen Nian.

But she didn’t leave.

She trusted that he would be alright.

Meanwhile, the battle between the three Legendaries grew even more intense.

Every stray energy blast that struck the ground carried the destructive force of a modern missile.

Forests and mountains outside the town were already in ruins.

Rayquaza, while chasing Deoxys, also had to fend off sudden attacks from Kyurem.

Its frustration mounted until, finally, it could take no more.

An orange energy sphere formed in its maw before launching skyward.

The orb exploded into a barrage of meteors, raining down indiscriminately on both foes.

Neither Kyurem nor Deoxys dared take this lightly.

They immediately unleashed their strongest moves to evade.

Deoxys shifted into Speed Forme, darting through the falling meteors like a crimson lightning bolt.

Watching this, Chen Nian’s pupils constricted.

If this wide-range attack hit the city, casualties would be catastrophic.

And Jiang Shuying was still there.

So in the next second, Chen Nian finally made his move.

He hadn’t acted earlier because he’d been attempting a mental link with Necrozma.

Now, the connection was successful.

He could now remotely command Necrozma to join the battle.

Just as the burning meteors were about to crash into the town—

But the expected devastation never came.

When she opened them again, a radiant, prismatic barrier shimmered in the sky above the town.

And standing atop it, emanating an overwhelming presence, was a dark crystalline entity.

Necrozma.

Kyurem, Rayquaza, and Deoxys all turned their attention to this sudden intruder.

At its trainer’s command, Necrozma unleashed a searing beam of light straight at the three airborne Legendaries.

Kyurem and the others instantly raised defensive barriers.

But in the next moment—Necrozma had already teleported above Rayquaza.

“Shadow Claw!!”

A massive claw of dark energy slashed downward, striking Rayquaza with brutal force.

Unable to dodge, Rayquaza was sent plummeting toward the ground.

Yet before Necrozma could press the advantage—Deoxys struck from behind.

A devastating energy beam shot toward Necrozma’s exposed back.

“Reflect!”

A shimmering barrier materialized, deflecting Deoxys’ attack right back at it.

Deoxys tried to evade, but suddenly—its body froze in place.

Psychic!

Under Chen Nian’s command, Necrozma had trapped it in a telekinetic grip.

Deoxys managed to break free after a brief struggle—but it was too late.

Its own reflected attack slammed into it, sending it crashing to the earth.

White Kyurem, hovering midair, opened its maw and fired a Hyper Beam.

Necrozma countered with Light Screen, effortlessly blocking the deadly blast.

“Necrozma—Double Team!”

“Then hit Kyurem with Psychic to lock it down—follow up with Hyper Beam!”

Instantly, Necrozma split into multiple afterimages.

Its eyes glowed crimson as a tangible wave of psychic energy crashed into Kyurem.

Kyurem’s body seized up—just as Necrozma’s Hyper Beam struck it point-blank in the head.

With a pained roar, Kyurem was sent flying.

But at that moment—a streak of green shot upward.

Rayquaza, recovering at blinding speed, lunged at Necrozma with a Dragon Ascent.

“Dodge it—then grab Rayquaza and use Brutal Swing!”

Necrozma twisted aside, evading the strike, then lashed out with its massive claws.

But before the attack could land—Necrozma suddenly froze mid-motion.

Deoxys had struck it with a Zen Headbutt from behind.

Before Chen Nian could react, both Kyurem and Rayquaza were already upon Necrozma.

And Deoxys fired another Hyper Beam.

All three Legendaries’ attacks converged at once.

“Necrozma—Protect!”

Necrozma crossed its claws, encasing itself in a faint energy shield.

But even with the defense, the combined might of three Legendaries was too much.

Necrozma was blasted backward, visibly injured.

Chen Nian grimaced.

Individually, none of these three were weaker than Necrozma.

Fighting all at once was nearly impossible.

To end this, Necrozma needed to be stronger.

And then, an idea struck him.

In the Pokémon anime, the Psychic-type trainer Sabrina could channel her psychic power to her Pokémon.

Could he do the same?
