Chapter 20: Alien vs. Caterpie

Aurora-like lights shimmered across the sky of the Forbidden Zone. A green draconic creature soared through the colorful radiance, roaring as it unleashed attacks toward a particular spot in the Kunlun Mountains. Waves of energy blasted from its maw, devastating large swathes of the land below.

Watching this, Chen Nian grinned and muttered to himself,

“Rayquaza… it’s furious!”

“And the thing below… must be—”

His thoughts were confirmed as a figure encased in blue psychic energy suddenly shot out from the direction Rayquaza was attacking. Moving at blinding speed, it lunged toward the sky serpent.

It was Deoxys—the extraterrestrial Pokémon that had arrived with the meteorite.

After striking Rayquaza once, Deoxys swiftly retreated. But Rayquaza roared and pursued without hesitation.

Deoxys shifted into Speed Forme, dodging Rayquaza’s attacks with fluid grace. The two clashed midair, their movements a blur of power and precision.

As Rayquaza relentlessly pressed its assault, Deoxys seemed to grow agitated. No longer content with evasion, it transformed into Attack Forme.

Four tendrils coiled against its chest before releasing a devastating beam of crackling energy. The attack struck Rayquaza head-on, sending it reeling backward.

Rayquaza recovered almost instantly, roaring as it charged again. The two titans clashed violently above the Forbidden Zone, their attacks occasionally straying beyond the mist and wreaking havoc outside.

The sheer pressure of their battle made the approaching trainers tremble uncontrollably. None had ever witnessed combat on this scale—how could they possibly intervene against such monsters?

Many of their summoned Pokémon cowered on the ground, paralyzed by fear. Even the native Dragon-types of the Forbidden Zone were fleeing in panic.

If these dragons escaped en masse, the surrounding regions would face unprecedented danger.

And if the two battling behemoths weren’t stopped soon, the entire area could be reduced to ruins.

Chen Nian wasn’t some self-proclaimed hero, but he refused to stand by while innocent people suffered from the fallout.

Pulling out a Poké Ball, he prepared to summon Necrozma—

Then, another shocking development unfolded.

A deafening roar erupted from the depths of the Kunlun Mountains.

In an instant, a freezing mist spread across the Forbidden Zone. Trees, shrubs, and grass—everything became coated in a layer of frost.

Even Rayquaza and Deoxys halted their battle, turning their attention toward the abyss below.

From the mountain’s depths, a Sheer Cold beam shot skyward, piercing through clouds as it targeted both combatants.

Rayquaza, enraged by the interference, retaliated with a Hyper Beam.

The two attacks collided midair, triggering a colossal explosion.

Seizing the chaos, Deoxys attempted to flee—but Rayquaza was faster. It lunged at the alien Pokémon, forcing it to block with all four arms before suddenly diving toward the ground.

Atop a distant peak, Chen Nian stood silently, Necrozma hovering behind him with its aura carefully suppressed.

Both watched the battle unfold, data on the two legendary Pokémon flashing through Chen Nian’s mind.
