Almighty Father System

Chapter 154 154: Grandmaster Lily.

While Hector was rushing to leave the Banana Islands, Leo and his family were casually resting in the lounger seats of the plane as it flew through the void. The young couple was enjoying a massage, while Lily was watching the Guards playing chess in the back.

Suddenly, she said, "Uncle Jock, I want to play too."

The people were surprised, and Jock wanted to say that she was too young when Zeenat asked, "Young Miss, do you know the rules?"

Lily nodded and said, "Yes, I do. We have to capture the king of the opposite team and also defend our own King during the process…"

She went on to list all the rules of the game for them to understand that she could really play the game. After a few minutes, the atmosphere inside the cabin grew solemn. The guards watched as Lily used her tiny hands to grab the pieces and place them in different positions fighting the battle on the board against the guard team.

Zeenat raised her eyebrow, she was shocked to look at how sharp this little girl was. She didn't spare any mistake and charged very strongly with her tokens. Leo was watching the game from the side, he saw that the guards suffered because they weren't taking her seriously and that allowed Lily to intimidate them.

After two games, Leo said, "Stop holding back against her, if you guys don't play seriously she will not grow stronger. Cardinals don't fear losing, we fear staying weak and stagnant"

The guards exchanged looks and they turned around when Lily said, "Have you guys been holding back? Do you think I am a child and cannot win against you?"

The guards adored her, but at the same time they were aware that this little angel had a pair of horns on her forehead as well. Zeenat said, "Step aside, I will play."

The people were surprised but they nodded, and Zeenat took a seat across the board and the game began. The cabin echoed with the tapping noises of the pieces being moved. The two people made seventy moves, but the winner had not been determined.

Zeenat said, "Young miss, in the next two moves the game will come to an end."

Lily smiled and said, "I know, but I won't be the loser."

That said, she picked up her black bishop and placed it in a straight line that targeted the King, and said, "Check!"

Zeenat frowned, she looked around and found that her King could not move anywhere else, and her Queen could not target the bishop, with no way left, she was forced to place the Queen to block the path of the bishop.

Lily smiled like the devil, she moved her knight, captured the Queen and said, "Checkmate!"

The guards gasped, they didn't even realize when Lily had placed her knight in this position. Zeenat raised her head to look at Lily and Leo said, "When you guys focused your attention on the onslaught carried out on the right side of the board, you missed that the central part was supporting them, that is why, once the left made a move, the central could take over the support on that side as well, and Lily did just that, she moved the Knight in the center and then used it freely to support her other soldiers."

Lily smirked and Leo said, "Since you have fought the battle three times, take a break, and then I will play one game against you."

The flight was seven hours long and so they had enough time to play a game or two.

Hector was sitting inside the car, and his face was gloomy. Steven could tell that the old man didn't like the circumstances of the moment. He was being cornered by the enemy and had no chance to retaliate. Hell, they didn;t even know who the enemy was.

Steven sighed as he drove the car, and Hector asked, "Do you know who the enemy is?"

The young man shook his head and after some thought he nodded it again. Hector asked calmly, "So, tell me who it is?"

Steven replied, "Cardinal. It is that man, I am sure."

Hector nodded with an indifferent gaze, he didn't say anything to the young man because by now, he had finished his calculations and knew that Leo was the reason behind his plight. The old man sighed, and asked, "Does he really have that much strength? Driving us out of all the countries where we have a safehouse, it shouldn't be this magnificent, his stature in the world, right?"

Steven said, "I am not sure if he has a big stature in the world, but what I can be sure of is the fact that his guards were all carrying weapons, they have the license in the Clover Nation where the laws are ruthless, so he must have earned it. That is not a simple job, similar to the nature of ousting us from all the various safe holds."

Hector realized the slip up, that night consumed by his rage, he made a mistake. He clenched his fist and said, "If only I hadn't been blinded by my rage. If only. After all these years, I have been thinking that nothing can shake me or my mind, but ever since my children failed on this mission, I have been losing my ways."

Steven didn't say anything, in his mind, he was cursing Hector because even though he had been a guard to this old man for the past seven years, he knew how twisted this guy really was.

They had landed from the flight two hours ago, and now they were moving through the dunes of sand, heading towards a place called the Dune Queen. It was a fortress that was obtained by Hector in the past, it was refurbished to be a bunker.

The cars pulled in, and Hector said, "I have a feeling that we might be meeting him again."

Steven nodded, and said, "This time, we will be ready."

As he said this, a few dozen men walked out from various shadows of the fortress walls, and Hector asked, "What's next, Cardinal?"
