After Transmigrating into a Novel with My Boyfriend, He Turned Out to Be a Native Villain

Chapter 183: I've Already Won Her Over

“Mom, is nobody home at Uncle's place?”

Outside the villa, Mu Hehe stood on tiptoe trying to look at the screen, but had to give up because he wasn’t tall enough.

“Really?” The woman in a beige-white dress frowned slightly and picked up her phone to check. “They should be home, right? Wasn’t he feeling unwell?”

Did he go to the hospital?

“No idea.” Mu Hehe shook his head with his little backpack on. “Mom, I feel like we didn’t need to come at all. Even if Uncle’s sick, someone would be taking care of him.”

After all, Uncle has Aunt now.

Hearing that, Bai Hui frowned in disapproval. “Mu Hehe, how can you say that? Uncle’s sick—we should care about him.”

Mu Hehe pouted, looking a little upset. “I didn’t say anything wrong. You know it yourself, don’t you? Uncle probably doesn’t even want you to take care of him.”

“……”

That hit hard.

Bai Hui felt like an arrow had shot straight through her chest, but she couldn’t argue.

Because what Mu Hehe said was true.

Bo Jingmo really had always kept a distant relationship with them. They barely interacted, and to put it bluntly, if it weren’t for Mu Hehe being such a little sweetheart, Bo Jingmo might’ve cut ties with them completely by now.

When she heard her mother was planning to call Bo Jingmo back for her birthday—and her father would be back too—she worried something might happen. But she had no real reason to come.

It was Grandpa who mentioned Bo Jingmo might have a fever, so she immediately dragged Mu Hehe over.

The doorbell rang for a few minutes with no response. Bai Hui was just about to consider heading back when the front door suddenly opened, and a man stood there looking at the mother and son.

He was wearing loungewear—it was clear he’d been home the whole time.

His face was expressionless, yet somehow it still gave off a heavy vibe. His dark eyes first glanced at Mu Hehe.

Mu Hehe cheerfully greeted his uncle, “Uncle!!”

His eyes kept darting toward the inside of the villa.

Wonder if Aunt is home?

Bo Jingmo shifted slightly to block the doorway completely, then finally turned his gaze to Bai Hui and spoke in a neutral tone, “Why’d you come? Didn’t we agree to bring Mu Hehe over on the weekend?”

Bai Hui quickly lifted the thermal container in her hand. “Grandpa said you had a fever, and Mu Hehe was really worried about you—he kept begging to come, so I brought him over.”

Mu Hehe muttered to himself on the side, not sure who exactly had pulled him over here.

Bo Jingmo gave a slight nod, his voice calm and indifferent. “It’s fine. I’m feeling much better now.”

“Ah… is that so.” Bai Hui said, eyes falling on Bo Jingmo’s face, secretly observing him.

After she told Grandpa she was coming, he’d asked her to pay attention to Bo Jingmo’s condition. He said something felt off during their phone call yesterday.

But from the looks of it… she didn’t notice anything strange.

Didn’t he seem completely normal? Maybe even better than before.

Remembering her original purpose, Bai Hui quickly stepped forward with a forced smile. “Jingmo, your sister came all this way. Aren’t you going to invite me in for a cup of tea?”

Bo Jingmo frowned slightly, clearly reluctant. “Today is—”

Before he could finish, Mu Hehe piped up brightly, “Uncle, I want water too! I’ve been waiting forever! I’m so thirsty!”

“……”

After a few seconds of silence, Bo Jingmo relented and turned slightly.

“Come in.”

……

This was actually Bai Hui’s first time visiting Bo Jingmo’s home. She looked around briefly, then cautiously asked, “Is the housekeeper not here today?”

Bo Jingmo poured a glass of water for Mu Hehe in the kitchen and replied, “No. I gave her the day off.”

“So you were home alone while you were sick?” Bai Hui followed him with the thermal container. “It’s good I brought some congee. Maybe you can—”

But when she saw the pots and dishes still sitting on the stove, her words got stuck in her throat, and she could only let out an awkward laugh. “...Already ate, huh.”

Bo Jingmo nodded. “Go sit in the living room. I’ll grab some tea.”

Bai Hui responded quickly, “Ah, okay, okay.”

Mu Hehe sipped his water slowly, his round eyes shifting toward the rooms upstairs. While his mom was distracted, he tugged at Bo Jingmo’s pant leg and whispered, “Uncle, is Teacher home? Can I go up and see her?”

Bo Jingmo looked down at the little guy in front of him and said coldly, “No. Sit in the living room.”

That was basically confirmation Yu Li was home.

Mu Hehe pouted—Uncle was so stingy.

But he still quietly asked, “So did you manage to make Teacher your wife yet?”

The man froze mid-motion. Where did this kid get that idea?

Mu Hehe, seeing the reaction, thought he’d guessed right. His little face scrunched up, and he looked at Bo Jingmo with some disappointment. “Uncle, you’re so slow. You still haven’t won her over? I’ve been keeping your secret just like Teacher asked me to!”

“...She told you that?”

Hearing the question, Mu Hehe nodded. “Yup.”

He looked around, then leaned in and whispered, “Uncle, let me tell you a secret. When I asked Teacher if she was Aunt, she didn’t say no. So she must like you too! You gotta keep at it! What if someone else snatches her away?”

Little Mu Hehe was completely invested in his uncle’s love life.

Uncle must be too cold—that’s why he couldn’t win over Aunt!

Thinking that, Mu Hehe was about to say more, but then he looked up and saw his usually stone-faced uncle suddenly curve his lips.

“No one can snatch her away.”

The man raised an eyebrow at him, and that normally aloof face showed a rare smug expression. “I’ve already won her over.”

In the living room, Bai Hui happened to turn her head and saw the whole scene.

Sunlight streamed into the kitchen, casting a golden glow on the man. His dark hair was haloed by light, and he was looking down at the little boy at his feet, a vivid smile lighting up his refined and chilly features.

It was nothing like the distant, polite smile she remembered.

She froze on the spot, staring blankly at the scene.

Since that incident, she had never seen Bo Jingmo smile like this.

In that moment, Bai Hui couldn’t even describe what she was feeling.

Excitement mixed with an unexplainable bitterness—her eyes began to sting.

Really… that’s wonderful.

Bo Jingmo… finally had a normal life.

It was as if he sensed her gaze. The man looked up slightly, and in the blink of an eye, his smile faded. His brows returned to their usual calm, indifferent state, and he lowered his head to speak to Mu Hehe.

“Go play upstairs.”

Don’t let your Aunt get too bored up there.
