After Transmigrating as a Tycoon’s Wife, My Thoughts Are Heard by the Whole Family

Chapter 441

Upon learning what little Qin Xian had gone through, Ji Fei felt as though her heart was bleeding.

Her anger burned so fiercely, she nearly lost all reason.

[How do these people have the nerve to show up in front of Qin Xian? And how does their daughter have the audacity to think she could ever have him…]

As her rage overwhelmed her, Ji Fei raced up to the very top floor—

And then froze in place.

Not far ahead, Yu Hongxian had stopped abruptly.

At his feet lay Yu Lu—unconscious.

"Lulu!" Yu Hongxian shouted in terror.

Ji Fei also halted, her heart pounding in her chest.

Then—

An old phone’s ringtone suddenly pierced the silence.

She turned toward the half-open attic door—

The sound was coming from inside.

At that moment—

It felt like an invisible hand was crushing her heart.

Inside was dark.

Silent.

[This is where they imprisoned Qin Xian as a child…]

That last month—

Everyone thought he had gone to a summer camp abroad.

In reality, Lü Meihe had abducted him mid-route, stuffed him inside a suitcase, and smuggled him back to the old residence—

Locking him away in the attic.

He had been so close to home, yet he was isolated in the dark for an entire month.

When she finally let him out, he had completely withdrawn into himself—

A brilliant rising star, brutally dragged down into the abyss.

Ji Fei threw open the door—

And her pupils contracted sharply.

Qin Xian sat against the furthest wall, next to the old wooden window.

His arms wrapped tightly around his legs.

His gaze was fixed on the view outside—

Silent. Empty.

He was a grown man, yet at this moment—

He looked like a helpless, abandoned child on the verge of disappearing.

"Qin Xian…" Ji Fei’s voice trembled as she rushed toward him.

Qin Xian shuddered.

It was as if he had been dragged back into a cold, suffocating abyss—

A place both foreign and familiar.

The endless, whispering voices returned to his ears:

"Aren’t you supposed to be a genius? You can’t even do this?"

"If you keep this up, your parents will be so disappointed in you."

"No wonder they don’t want you anymore."

"You won’t tell on me, right? After all, I’m just telling the truth."

"I’m doing this for your own good. You’re just that pathetic."

"You’re nothing but a freak. Someone that nobody wants."

"Shut up. Everyone hates you. They all wish you would just disappear."

And then—

The ringtone echoed again.

Stay silent.

Don’t talk.

Shut yourself away.

That way, no one will hate you.

The people around him—

Crying.

They always looked at him with sorrow and pity.

It was his fault.

He should never have existed.

"Wow! Big Brother is so handsome! Qin Second Brother?"

"Qin Second Brother… Qin Second Brother… Qin Second Brother… I only like Qin Second Brother… I want to be with him forever…"

"Qin Xian! Qin Xian! It’s me! Wake up!"

His eyelashes quivered.

A flicker of light returned to his eyes—

And in them, Ji Fei’s reflection appeared.

[Why is Qin Xian like this? It has to be Lü Meihe. Where is she?!]

Ji Fei immediately realized—

If Lü Meihe had done this, it meant the hypnosis had unraveled.

If that were true, then she should be able to see Lü Meihe’s mental state through her system.

But the next moment—

Nothing.

There was only a blank space where modified information used to be.

Had she completely lost her mind?!

Ji Fei’s instincts screamed at her—

She whipped her head around—

And sure enough—

Lü Meihe stood there, holding a bucket-like container, swinging it toward her.

"As long as you’re dead, Qin Xian will belong to my daughter! If I couldn’t have him, then my daughter will fulfill my wish!"

[Crazy bitch!!]

Ji Fei cursed loudly, ready to charge forward and fight.

She refused to believe she couldn’t handle one deranged woman.

But just as she was about to lunge, Lü Meihe’s hand twisted sharply—

The liquid splashed downward instead.

A nauseating stench filled the air.

Ji Fei’s expression changed instantly.

She tried to dodge, but—

It was too late.

[Gasoline!!]

Soaked from head to toe, Ji Fei’s eyes widened in shock, staring at Lü Meihe in disbelief.

[She’s actually trying to kill me?!]

Then, Lü Meihe pulled out a lighter.

With a flick, a flame ignited.

For the first time, Ji Fei froze in terror.

Not only was she covered in gasoline—

Even the floor beneath her was drenched, forming a trail like a fuse.

The moment Lü Meihe tossed the lighter, the flames would engulf everything.

Suddenly—

A figure stepped in front of Ji Fei.

Her vision blurred with tears.

Qin Xian.

He had woken up.

"You…" Lü Meihe stared in shock.

"So you really were healed? I thought I had completely broken you back then. I didn’t expect you to be strong enough to undo the psychological triggers."

She sneered, her tone twisted with resentment.

"Because I met my savior," Qin Xian’s voice trembled—

But his regret cut even deeper.

If he had truly healed, if he had not left wounds unaddressed,

Lü Meihe would never have been able to manipulate him again.

He had put Ji Fei in danger.

"Feifei… I’m sorry," Qin Xian whispered, his voice hoarse with guilt.

Ji Fei desperately wanted to hold him—

But remembering the gasoline all over her body, she didn’t dare touch him.

"If you want revenge, take it out on me," Qin Xian said coldly, his gaze fixed on the fire in Lü Meihe’s hands.

He knew—

This woman was completely insane.

She was capable of anything.

Qin Xian was skilled in combat—Lü Meihe was no threat to him.

But even if she flinched for a second, even if she dropped the lighter carelessly,

Ji Fei would be swallowed by fire in an instant.

He could not take that risk.

He would rather kneel and beg for his life than gamble with Ji Fei’s safety.

The flames flickered in Lü Meihe’s hands.

It was ready to consume them at any moment.

"You lost your memory for so long… but somehow, you got to live so well?"

"You have a successful career. A happy family. You even recovered."

"Why?"

"I should have destroyed you back then!"

Lü Meihe’s face twisted in fury, her mind spiraling further into madness.

And Ji Fei—

Was done listening.

"YOU’RE the one who’s sick in the head!!"

"Just because Qin Xian exposed your secret, you tried to DESTROY HIM?! Are you INSANE?!"

"YOU’RE A COMPLETE PSYCHOPATH!!"

She didn’t care if she exposed her system—

Ji Fei roared in fury.

Qin Xian instantly tensed, stepping back—

Because he realized—

Ji Fei was afraid to touch him… for his own safety.

“Hahaha! That’s right, I’m a total psycho! I love my own brother so much it’s driven me insane! But I hid it so well! I could’ve been a good aunt! It was him—it was him who mocked me, who shattered my disguise, who turned me back into this crazed lunatic! It’s his fault! He destroyed me! So I’ll destroy him! It’s only fair!” Lü Meihe snarled.

“That… that’s not what I meant back then.” Qin Xian struggled to keep his voice calm, to soothe her. “I was just a kid. I didn’t understand anything. I only saw you suppressing your pain, and I wanted to tell you… you didn’t have to grieve over my father anymore. Some things are impossible, and I didn’t want you torturing yourself over them. I just wanted you to move forward, to be happy.”

Back then, his aunt had often looked after him. No matter how young Qin Xian was, he would never have deliberately tried to hurt her out of malice. His words had been well-intentioned. He never imagined that some people’s hearts were so twisted, that they saw only darkness in everything. She had wanted to let out her evil, to break free from the chains of morality. And his words… had simply given her an excuse.

Lü Meihe was like someone who had walked too far down a path of no return. At first, maybe she had only indulged in small acts of malice. But little by little, she had lost control. She had grown bolder, venting all her pent-up resentment and cruelty onto young Qin Xian, using him to balance the scales of her own miserable life.

So now, even as Qin Xian told her the truth, she only shook her head, refusing to believe it.

“You think I’d believe that? It doesn’t matter. You ruined me, so now you’ll pay the price. Perfect timing—my daughter has taken a liking to you. You’re going to be with her. And as for the one you love… heh… you already know, don’t you? Anything you care about, anything you treasure, I will never let it go. Goldfish, parrots, rabbits, cats… I made you watch them all die, didn’t I? And now, I’ll make you watch this one die too.”

“If you hate me, shouldn’t you just kill me?” Qin Xian asked urgently.

“What fun would that be? You have to suffer just like I did.”

A creaking sound came from behind. Lü Meihe immediately raised her lighter, her body smartly angled so that she was leaning against one of the attic’s support beams. This way, she could keep an eye on both sides. If anything went wrong, she could throw the lighter in an instant.

“Meihe… don’t do this. There’ll be no going back.” Yu Hongxian’s voice trembled, tears streaming down his face.

Before, there had been ways to cover things up. But if she killed someone now, there would be no saving her.

“You should be dead! You hypnotized me! You tricked me! I never loved you! I was never going to be with you! You’re just a rapist!” Lü Meihe suddenly exploded in fury.

Yu Hongxian turned deathly pale. “All these years… didn’t any of it move you? If you just stop shutting yourself off, maybe… maybe you’d feel something for me too.”

Lü Meihe let out a cold laugh. The icy look in her eyes nearly made Yu Hongxian’s legs give out.

She was done talking. She was tired. Raising her hand, she said, “Qin Xian, step back. I wouldn’t want you getting hurt. Your aunt still loves you.”

“Stop!” A hoarse voice rang out.

Lü Meihe’s body stiffened.

“Meihe… please, don’t hurt them. I’m begging you.”

Qin Xian and Ji Fei saw him at the same time—Qin Dad, kneeling at the doorway, his aged face streaked with tears.

Lü Meihe trembled all over.

Then, she snapped, “Nobody move! Not a single step! Or I’ll kill this little girl right in front of you!”

Everyone at the doorway froze in place. Qin Dad, kneeling inside, didn’t dare to act recklessly either.

“Meihe… don’t do this. If you have any resentment, take it out on me. I’m their father. I’ll take responsibility,” Qin Dad pleaded humbly.

“It’s not your fault. It never was.” Lü Meihe’s voice was eerily calm. “I don’t love you anymore, but… there’s no turning back for me.”

Her eyes grew even more ruthless. As if she had accepted that there would be no peaceful ending today, and that she had to take at least one person with her.

She was already insane. Logic no longer applied. She had failed to get what she wanted, so she was forcing her daughter to live the dream she couldn’t achieve. If Qin Dad hadn’t been with Qin Mom back then, she would’ve had a chance—just like now, if Ji Fei weren’t by Qin Xian’s side, her daughter would have a chance.

She couldn’t think rationally anymore. She had forgotten that she had destroyed Qin Xian’s childhood, that she was about to become the mother of a murderer.

No matter what, nothing was going to go the way she wanted. But she was obsessed with making it happen.

Qin Xian knew there was no reasoning with her anymore. He had to act. He had to stay calm, but at the same time, he couldn’t let Lü Meihe catch on to their plans.

What do I do? I have to save myself. At the very least… at the very least, I can’t drag the others down with me. I need Qin Xian to get away from me.

Qin Xian’s eyes flashed. In a low voice, he said, “I won’t leave you. Never.”

Ji Fei froze.

Qin Xian continued, “We’ll figure it out together. You won’t drag anyone else down. I’m not ‘someone else.’ We live and die together, so you can’t make me leave you.”

Ji Fei was dumbfounded. Why does he keep responding to me? Is this some kind of telepathy?

Qin Xian chuckled. “It’s telepathy. Not just me—our whole family is like this. So, Feifei, think. Think as hard as you can.”

Ji Fei was stunned, but there was no time to dwell on it.

Lü Meihe scoffed. “That’s your touching farewell? What nonsense are you spouting? Qin Xian, step aside. This isn’t a joke. If you get disfigured, my daughter might not like you anymore.”

Qin Xian ignored everyone’s reactions. He reached back and yanked Ji Fei into his arms, holding her tight. The gasoline soaked into his clothes.

“Ah!” Ji Fei screamed but met Qin Xian’s gaze. It was unwavering. She quickly nodded.

Her heart pounded wildly.

“You want to die together?” Lü Meihe sneered.

If they really can hear me, then the best solution right now is to put out the fire with an extinguisher.

Ji Fei caught sight of two heads peeking in from the doorway—it was Qin Rong and Qin Yan. Each of them was holding a fire extinguisher, but they didn’t dare rush in. If they startled Lü Meihe, they wouldn’t have time to put the fire out.

Qin Xian: “There’s no time.”

“What?” Lü Meihe had no idea what he meant.

Ji Fei understood. She saw the look Qin Xian gave her.

The window behind them.

It was old. Rotten. Fragile.

Is he planning for us to jump before the flames spread? That might work, but this is the West Wing—it’s too high! Unless the fire department gets here in time… but even if the family can hear us, even if they’ve called… it’s too far. Wait… an air cushion… an inflatable bounce house! Like the ones in amusement parks!

Ji Fei looked at Qin Xian. He nodded.

Hurry! Someone, get one!

Shouting erupted downstairs. Qin Chao’s voice roared. Ji Fei’s heart pounded like a drum. If this goes wrong…

She knew Qin Xian had a backup plan. He had exchanged looks with his father. If they could, they’d subdue Lü Meihe. If not, they’d use the extinguishers. If all else failed… they’d jump.

And then—

“Meihe! What are you doing?! Stop! You can’t hurt the young master’s children!” A shrill voice rang out.

Lü Meihe’s eyes went blank. Before anyone could react, she threw the lighter to the ground.

Time seemed to slow.

Qin Dad reached for the lighter, but it was too far. The fire extinguisher sprayed, but it couldn’t outpace the flames.

The fire raced across the floor, streaking toward Ji Fei’s feet.

Then— BANG!

Qin Xian crashed through the window, clutching Ji Fei as they plummeted.

Ji Fei felt her tears whipping past her face, the cold night air rushing against her skin. In that moment, as they burst through the glass, their positions shifted—somehow, she ended up in Qin Xian’s arms, completely shielded by him. Instinctively, she clung to him, wrapping her arms around the man who was protecting her with his whole body.

Did they hear me? Is there a cushion below? Is it ready?

She prayed.

[System, underworld messengers, divine spirits, anyone—please, don’t let us die. Please, I want to live. I want to grow old with Qin Xian.]

As the weightless sensation of freefall engulfed her, a searing heat flared in her chest. Then—her head throbbed violently, a splitting pain as if something was pouring into her mind all at once.
