After Transmigrating as a Tycoon’s Wife, My Thoughts Are Heard by the Whole Family

Chapter 408

Although everyone said what they wanted to, the more patient ones still took the time to explain the current situation to Zhao Chengle.

They told him that in less than a month, there had been divorces, breakups, hospitalizations, and even imprisonments. It had been quite a spectacle.

Zhao Chengle turned pale, as if suddenly realizing that his family’s problems might not be such a big deal after all.

Ji Fei saw his expression and couldn’t help but internally ridicule him.

“Your family’s situation isn’t small either. There’s a good chance you’ll follow in the footsteps of that so-called ‘favored grandson.’ After all, what you’ve done is equally despicable. This whole mess needs to be exposed. Lu Yunqing, that fake ‘white lotus,’ is still pretending to be virtuous. I can’t let Wu Gu suffer a double blow. Even if they do get divorced, Lu Yunqing plans to keep it hidden alongside Zhao Jianghe. She doesn’t even care about having a wedding; she’s fine with staying hidden until the truth comes out. She’s even willing to endure grievances, hoping Wu Gu will eventually let go of her resentment and give them her blessing. I’m so disgusted, I could puke.”

The Qin Lao’er family collectively thought: “Keep investigating that mistress’s inner thoughts—we’re about to puke too.”

“At the moment, there’s probably no opportunity to expose this, especially since we’re on our own turf. They’ll definitely be careful. Let’s stick to the earlier topic of flirting and give my husband some pillow talk so he can investigate. Once we have evidence, we’ll hand it to Wu Gu.”

Qin Xian smirked. He had already arranged for an investigation, knowing full well how his wife operated. But he was curious to hear what kind of "pillow talk" she’d come up with.

“I don’t think this counts as a double blow. For a woman, if her best friend betrays her, and she still shares her secrets and treats her as a friend, only to find out the truth later, it’s enough to make her sick to the point of depression!”

The Qin Lao’er family agreed wholeheartedly, thinking a swift resolution was the best course of action.

After chatting for a while, the conversation naturally turned back to Wu Gu. Zhao Chengle kept inadvertently clashing with the others. Afraid of saying something inappropriate in his drunken state, he decided to take a walk to sober up before resting. In truth, he was frustrated and too embarrassed to stay.

The others continued their conversation.

As it got late and everyone was preparing to leave, Wu Gu suddenly appeared.

Everyone quickly greeted her. Wu Gu had brought gifts for everyone this time, especially for Qin Xian and Ji Fei. She had been thrilled to hear they were coming and had looked forward to meeting them under better circumstances, if not for all the recent unpleasantness.

Seeing that Wu Gu seemed to be in decent spirits, everyone lightened up and began joking with her. They teased her about the idea of "out with the old, in with the new" and how there would be plenty of young and talented men to choose from at Grandfather’s upcoming birthday banquet.

Wu Gu couldn’t help but laugh. Then she asked, “Where’s Zhao Chengle’s room? I’d like to talk to him.”

“He’s not in his room. We probably upset him, so he went out for a walk,” Qin Chao said mischievously.

Wu Gu sighed helplessly. “You said something to him?”

“Shouldn’t we have said something?” Qin Xiaoyu pouted.

Wu Gu sighed. “Maybe he resents me for being too calm back then.”

“Huh? How would not being calm have helped?” Qin Jing replied helplessly. “Someone had to stay rational. It’s not like he seems capable of being calm.”

“Well, it’s all a misunderstanding. When he matures, he’ll understand,” Wu Gu said, indicating that despite her son’s actions, she still wanted to talk things out with him and hoped he’d come to understand her.

“What a pity, though… he’s hiding an even bigger secret from her. He—wait, hold on…”

“Wu Gu, why are you alone? Where’s your friend?” Ji Fei asked curiously.

“Earlier, from the way Lu Yunqing was acting, I thought she’d stick to Wu Gu like glue, pretending to be her close friend.”

Wu Gu didn’t expect Ji Fei to be so focused on Lu Yunqing. Recalling the unfriendly remarks Ji Fei had made before, something flashed through Wu Gu’s mind.

“Oh, it’s late, and she’s tired. She went back to the guest room to rest,” Wu Gu replied.

“She’s not sharing a room with you?” Ji Fei asked in surprise.

“No,” Wu Gu said with a smile. “We’re not little girls anymore. It’s not like we’d share a room just because we get along well.”

Ji Fei’s smile froze.

“So… the ex-husband is staying in the guest building, and the mistress is also in the guest building? Just the two of them? Alone? Right now, they’re… holy crap, quick, quick, quick! We need to catch them in the act!”

The Qin Lao’er family jolted as if on cue, almost instinctively standing up.

Could it really be this explosive?

“Think of an excuse, think of an excuse…”

Just then, Wu Gu, thinking they had no more questions, turned to leave. “I’ll go look for him myself.”

Ji Fei’s eyes lit up. “We’ll go with you! We upset our cousin earlier. We should apologize and smooth things over. After all, siblings quarrel, but we shouldn’t carry grudges into tomorrow!”

The Qin Lao’er family gave her a thumbs up. But then they realized—wait, what does this have to do with catching the mistress? Zhao Chengle doesn’t even stay in the guest building!

Qin Xian stood up and pulled Ji Fei with him. “My wife is right.”

Seeing Qin Xian so confident, the Qin Lao’er family immediately felt reassured.

The others, however, were puzzled. Did their relationship really need this much maintenance?

But seeing the Qin Lao’er family taking action, they couldn’t stay behind, so they all stood up as well.

Wu Gu was a bit confused but felt comforted by their support and didn’t stop them.

The moment they stepped outside, the Qin Lao’er family panicked. What if they ran into Zhao Chengle? That would ruin everything!

“Holy crap, I almost forgot! If we bump into Zhao Chengle, it’s game over. Luckily, he’s not here right now. Let me check… oh, he’s over by the little maze Grandpa made for Qin Xi and Qin Weiwei. He hasn’t found his way out yet. Now that we’re all out here, we just need to figure out how to guide Wu Gu over there.”

The Qin Lao’er family: “You’re only thinking about this now?”

As everyone anxiously walked outside, Qin Xian suddenly said, “I think I saw our cousin heading into the guest building. Maybe he went to find Zhao Jianghe?”

“Oh my god, is Qin Xian seeing things? Zhao Chengle isn’t even there! But this excuse works!” Ji Fei’s heart raced.

“Really? In that case…” Wu Gu hesitated, clearly unwilling to face her ex-husband and seemingly ready to give up on finding Zhao Chengle.
