Chapter 103
Outside the door, Huo Yan was finally dragged away by Huo Ze and Huo Jing together.
But even so, Ye Leyao didn’t have the face to go downstairs.
“I…I don’t want to see second brother today… no, not even tomorrow!” Ye Leyao paced around the room, his face flushed red as he circled nervously.
Qin Yao watched his bright red face, a smile playing in his eyes. “What if Uncle and Auntie call you for dinner later?”
“I’m not eating!” Ye Leyao rubbed his face with his hands. “Of course I’m not eating, but...”
When Ye Leyao turned his head, he caught sight of Qin Yao's face, which barely hid his amusement.
Ye Leyao's eyebrows shot up instantly. “President Qin! You’re still laughing!”
Qin Yao tried his best to suppress the corners of his mouth.
After some effort, he managed to put away his smile. But as soon as he met Ye Leyao’s gaze again, he faltered and quickly turned his head away.
Ye Leyao glared at Qin Yao on purpose, puffing up in mock anger.
Suddenly, Ye Leyao’s eyes lit up.
“It seems there’s only one solution.”
Qin Yao had been laughing for a while before he noticed Ye Leyao standing right in front of him.
The redness on Ye Leyao's face had almost disappeared, and now, he was staring at him with wide, bright eyes.
Qin Yao blinked in confusion. “Huh?”
Ye Leyao gave Qin Yao a radiant, sunny smile. “President Qin, you don’t have to go to the company today, right?”
Qin Yao looked at Ye Leyao and, after a moment, said, “No, I don’t.”
Then Ye Leyao burst into a laugh. “Great! Then, President Qin, you’re coming with me to meet someone today!”
Qin Yao instinctively asked, “Didn’t you say you didn’t want to see Huo Yan today?”
“Who said going out means I’ll see second brother?” Ye Leyao blinked innocently.
Qin Yao was puzzled. “Then we’re…”
Before Qin Yao could finish, Ye Leyao suddenly turned, walking quickly to the balcony. He slid open the glass door leading outside.
Qin Yao's pupils shrank.
It couldn’t be what he thought, right?
Before Qin Yao could voice his thoughts, Ye Leyao quickly turned back and grabbed Qin Yao's hand. “Are you ready?”
“Ready for what—”
Before Qin Yao could finish his sentence, Ye Leyao pulled him up, and they swiftly flew out the window.
The sensation of weightlessness was uniquely exhilarating. The summer breeze, warm but not too hot, brushed past their faces, carrying the heat of the season.
Qin Yao looked down at the ground, noticing how the towering buildings had shrunk into tiny structures below.
He smiled.
Ye Leyao tilted his head towards him. “Aren’t you scared?”
Qin Yao gripped Ye Leyao’s hand tighter and smiled. “Why should I be scared when I have you?”
The man’s response was so natural and confident that it made Ye Leyao’s ears turn red.
Ye Leyao huffed a couple of times, realizing he couldn’t scare Qin Yao. He stopped teasing him and soon found an empty spot to land.
As soon as they touched down, Ye Leyao pulled out his phone and sent a message to Huo Mom, telling her that he and Qin Yao wouldn’t be coming back for dinner.
Once Huo Mom replied, he gave her a brief explanation and then put away his phone. “Let’s go.”
“Who are we meeting?” Qin Yao asked.
Ye Leyao thought for a moment. “Well, it’s not exactly that we’re meeting someone; it’s more like we’re going to witness some juicy gossip.”
Qin Yao’s eyes curved with amusement. “Just the two of us?”
Ye Leyao knew what Qin Yao was hinting at, and he hesitated for a moment, standing in place.
“Just the two of us... does seem a bit inappropriate,” Ye Leyao muttered after a second of pondering.
Qin Yao smiled and pulled out his phone. “How about I call Huo Ze? We can grab lunch while we wait for them to come.”
What do you think?
