Chapter 761: 523, Ice Tower and the new Witch
Roar!
A deafening roar exploded within the room!
In front of Lin Da stood a colossal Bull Horned Skeleton, wielding a Crimson Battle Axe in each hand, stomping toward him with earth-shaking footsteps.
The Ice Armor Skeletons drew their bows and unleashed arrows.
Rain of arrows, the enormous Bull Horned Skeleton in the sky, and the Sword and Shield Skeletons blocking all escape routes from every direction… all converged to attack Lin Da.
Lin Da remained calm, his eyes serene and unruffled.
The Sacred Rank Magic Power endowed him with unwavering confidence, as though he were an unyielding mountain, unaffected by passing winds and waves.
“Rare Technique, Fragile Aura!”
Lin Da snapped his fingers, and instantly, a purple ring of light rippled outward.
The skeletons’ movements froze momentarily, as cracks emerged on their jade-like white bones.
Then, Lin Da vanished like a phantom.
In his wake, a black “Flame Path,” one meter wide, stretched across the ground.
Magic Flame Strike!
Lin Da darted back and forth among the skeleton hordes, his sword sharp and indomitable, as the cold and violent Twin Mana seemed capable of igniting the very heavens.
Within mere breaths, the room was engulfed in a sea of black flames.
Lin Da emerged from the inferno, sheathed his sword, and walked ahead calmly.
As he reached the stone door leading to the next floor, the skeletons were reduced to ashes.
Boom!
A blue light glowed on the stone door, moving it open slowly without a gust of wind.
Lin Da stepped inside.
Ice Tower, Floor 15, cleared!
…
…
“Two-headed Hellhound, dead.”
“One-eyed Giant, dead.”
“Alchemy Mechanism Lion, dead.”
Lin Da overcame each challenge and reached the top floor, Level 19.
The final boss guarding the portal was a puppet humanoid Swordsman. Employing Magic Flame Strike Flash to exploit a clever angle, Lin Da activated [Abandon Armor and Fight] and obliterated the creature with a single punch.
Crunch, crunch, crunch—
Above, a circular stone slab began to open, triggered by some mechanism.
Lin Da smirked and unfurled his Light Wings, soaring upward.
“So this is the top floor of the Ice Tower?”
The floor’s center featured an open circle, allowing a full view of Level 19 below. Only the edges of the space had areas where one could stand.
Lin Da observed his surroundings.
On the 20th floor, countless snowflakes hovered in the air, refusing to fall. Like small boats atop waves of air, they oscillated rhythmically. Lin Da touched the snowflakes with his fingers, only to find they felt like light and shadow, entirely insubstantial.
Breathtakingly beautiful, like a mythical wonderland.
The sapphire walls of the ice crystal room were engraved with numerous Magic Runes—some shaped like crescent moons, others like reeds, and even one resembling a turtle.
Walking and observing, Lin Da experienced a sudden realization: this was the Ice type [Cold Moon Law] and Phantom Series [Mirror Flower Law].
In the game, Evelyn wielded dual-series laws, with attributes of Ice + Phantom.
It appeared that the top-floor reward from the Ice Tower was the Rule Fragments she had left behind.
Unfortunately, Lin Da specialized in the Recovery Series, with Poison Series as his secondary focus. Evelyn’s laws found little synergy with his abilities.
“I’ll deal with it another time. The primary goal this time is to heal Bailuo’s friend.”
Lin Da touched his Space Ring, extracting the letter from Bailuo.
——”Open this when you’ve reached the Ice Tower’s top floor.”
Bailuo probably hadn’t expected Lin Da to reach the summit in only half a month.
It could only be attributed to his full set of Ancient Level Five-star gear paired with Sacred Rank Magic Power—simply unmatched.
Inside the envelope were two slips of paper, one wrapped around Bailuo’s token: the Primordial Adventure Team badge.
Staring dazedly at the round, emerald-green badge in his hand, Lin Da became momentarily lost in thought.
The Primordial team’s badge depicted a sprout emerging from brown soil, brimming with vitality as though it could grow into a towering tree.
The letter instructed him to show the badge to the intended party, who would then trust him.
After all, Lin Da’s Purification ability was quite unusual.
“Let’s see… the letter says to use the position of the sun as a center point, draw a Hexagram Array, and then drip this bottle of purple Potion to open the Dark Room.”
Lin Da followed the instructions precisely.
A moment later, the Hexagram Array was completed.
He opened the Potion included with the letter and dripped it onto the array.
Whoosh~
A faint, mysterious sound came from the wall.
Lin Da extended his hand forward, and the wall rippled like mist, then vanished.
A stone staircase leading upward was revealed!
Gazing at the stairs that disappeared into blackness, Lin Da’s heart beat slightly faster.
He was about to meet the Witch—whether she would be amicable remained to be seen.
Hopefully, she wouldn’t be like Lia, with her fiery, hedgehog-like personality, where even lingering stares could lead to trouble.
Let’s hope she’s a reasonable Witch.
Lin Da took a deep breath and ascended the steps.
After climbing roughly thirty steps, he arrived at a black iron door.
It wasn’t locked, and he entered easily.
The room inside turned out to be a living room around fifty square meters, chaotic with cluttered shelves filled with jars and bottles. A long table in the center held various containers, glass test tubes stuck into them.
Potions of every color—red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, violet—were present.
Also lying around were dried frogs, basin-sized suspected scales of a Red Dragon, Ice Armor Centipedes, pink Hallucinogenic Herb…
All messily piled together, triggering Lin Da’s obsessive tendencies.
He resisted the urge to tidy up and continued observing.
The most eye-catching item was a massive purple cauldron in the center of the living room.
No charcoal fire burned underneath, yet it emitted heat, its deep green liquid churning, reflecting Lin Da’s distorted face.
An ominous sensation arose.
Bailuo’s friend resembled the Witches in comic books.
Magic Potions, cauldrons, bizarre Magical Creature materials…
In Lin Da’s mind, the image of a hideous, pockmarked old crone surfaced involuntarily.
If purification were involved, he might hesitate.
“No choice—I’ve promised to accomplish the task. Even if she’s an old hag, there’s no backing out.”
What do you think?
