Chapter 111: Chapter 111 Ningning is Not a Wild Child!
Kindergarten days were far more boring than Ningning had imagined.
They were in the middle class of kindergarten now, mainly learning some common knowledge about life, such as recognizing objects and colors, what traffic rules were, and the importance of being civilized and polite…
The other children listened with great interest, while Ningning especially wanted to doze off.
No wonder her big brother didn’t want to come to school.
It was really boring.
And everyone was so childish…
Bored out of her skull, Ningning began to sneak peeks at her brother.
The sunlight poured through the window onto Chen Bao’s tender little face, where even the delicate fuzz could be clearly seen. With his head slightly bowed, he was doodling in his draft book — his nose bridge high, his lips thin. He would definitely be a heartbreaker when he grew up…
“Gurgle,” suddenly, her stomach made an untimely noise.
She quickly covered her little belly.
At that moment, she heard a childlike voice pipe up, “Teacher, I want to report something.”
The homeroom teacher looked towards the handsome little boy who was sitting up straight in the classroom.
The principal had said to give Chengcheng special care; the child’s background was something they couldn’t afford to offend.
“Chengcheng, what would you like to report?”
“Teacher, I report that Ning Mengmeng is not paying attention in class and has been sneaking glances at Chen Bao!” Chengcheng stood up elegantly, his voice resounding firmly, yet filled with scorn.
The other children burst into laughter.
The teacher, puzzled, turned to Ningning, “Child, why were you sneaking glances at him?”
Ningning, hands on her little hips, stared at Chengcheng without a word, “Teacher, I also have a report — Chengcheng has been sneaking peeks at me!”
Chengcheng’s face darkened, “I have not!”
“If you’re not looking at me, how do you know I’m looking at my Brother Chen Bao?” Ningning aggressively retorted, her fuzzy little head cocked high, the picture of defiance.
Chengcheng’s face turned red with embarrassment, then he exclaimed, “Regardless, it’s shameless of you to sneak peeks at other boys! Plus, I heard you don’t have a daddy, that you’re a wild child!”
Chengcheng’s statement revealed a lot.
It immediately laid bare the disdain for Ningning’s single-parent family.
Besides, she was a transfer student and wasn’t yet familiar with everyone…
The children in kindergarten didn’t have their independent judgment, and seeing Chengcheng lead the exclusion of Ningning, everyone subconsciously treated her with a strange look.
Their parents had been saying it, too — Ningning’s mother was no good, luring men everywhere.
Chengcheng had expected to see Ningning’s ashamed and pained expression, but…
Ningning just raised her delicate little eyebrows calmly, “I don’t have a daddy because a homewrecker lured mine away. Who would want such a trash daddy? Besides, I have the best mommy in the world, why would I need a trash daddy?”
“So you admit it, you’re a wild child without a daddy,” Chengcheng scoffed, deliberately raising his voice in mockery.
Chen Bao frowned in displeasure.
“Apologize,” he stood up, his gaze piercing as he stared at Chengcheng, “Ningning is not a wild child.”
“What I’m saying is the truth, why should I apologize?” Chengcheng looked down on Chen Bao too and scornfully said, “You actually like to play with such a wild child, you’re really not worthy of the Li surname.”
Chen Bao cared even less about being related to Chengcheng, had it not been for Li Lingyang threatening him with the orphanage, he would have run away long ago.
His little fists were clenched so tightly they crackled.
Fists can’t solve everything, but sometimes, they can be far more surprising than reasoning!
“Alright, alright, Chengcheng, Chen Bao, and Ningning… Everyone stop arguing, we’re all classmates, we should be inclusive, learn to understand each other…”
Seeing the situation turn sour, seemingly about to escalate into a fight, the teacher hurried over to stop it.
When dealing with Chengcheng, her tone was very gentle, but when she turned to look at Ningning, there was a hint of impatience.
“You need to focus during class and stop sneaking looks at the other kids!”
The students at this kindergarten were all either rich or noble, who knew what means this child had used to get in? Miss Shen from the parents’ committee took an immediate dislike to her.
Ningning felt the teacher’s differential treatment and glared at her, huffing in frustration.
Chen Bao couldn’t stand to see Ningning being treated unfairly and stood up, taking her by the hand and striding out of the classroom.
“Hey, Chen Bao, where are you going?”
Their answer was to leave without looking back, leaving her no face at all.
The two little ones walked a long way in one breath before finding some steps to sit down on, and then Chen Bao gently consoled Ningning.
“I’m not mad at all, don’t worry, brother. I’m just really annoyed, oh, Chengcheng is so obnoxious, and yet you have to deal with him every day.” Ningning said, propping up her little chin.
A gleam flashed in Chen Bao’s obsidian-like eyes, “Brother will find a chance to avenge you.”
“Good, I believe in you, brother!”
Chen Bao hummed in response and then asked her about Ning Yichu’s recent situation.
As they were talking, Ningning’s little tummy inappropriately rumbled again, gurgling.
Ningning covered her stomach in embarrassment and exchanged a look with Chen Bao, eyes wide.
“Didn’t you have breakfast?” Chen Bao asked in surprise.
Ningning’s face flushed with embarrassment, “I had a big bowl, but I don’t know why I’m hungry again… Maybe my digestive system is more powerful than that of other kids!”
“…” You know what a digestive system is?
Ningning then added, “That’s good too, I won’t have to worry about getting fat!”
“Dummy.” Chen Bao knocked on her little head and said grumpily, “How old are you to worry about getting fat? Come on, I’ll take you to eat.”
Although his dad was lousy, he had given him a black card as pocket money, Chen Bao hadn’t paid attention to the exact amount, but it was definitely no problem to improve his sister’s life!
He had made up his mind; if his lousy dad’s son made him angry, he’d swipe that card hard as retaliation on his dad!
Ningning puzzled, “Isn’t the cafeteria not open yet?”
“We’ll go out for a feast!”
Ningning clapped her hands in delight.
They turned around, only to find that Doudou had somehow followed them out.
The little girl was hugging an adorable pink piggy backpack, gazing at them with milky eyes.
Hearing their conversation, she pulled open the zipper of her little backpack and took out all sorts of snacks, asking with her big watery eyes, “I have snacks, do you want some, miss?”
Oreos, fries, cookies, jelly beans, chocolates, lollipops…
Ningning exclaimed dramatically, “Wow, so many yummy snacks! I want, I want!”
Doudou hurriedly stuffed her with the treats and then continued digging in her backpack.
Then, like performing magic, she pulled out a big pile…
Her little backpack was just like Doraemon’s pocket, seemingly endless.
Chen Bao was also dumbfounded, “Don’t tell me your backpack is full of snacks?”
Doudou’s clear eyes widened, and she nodded again and again.
These were all packed by Granny He, she didn’t usually eat much and carried it to school and back home every day, but now it seemed she had an opportunity to put it to use.
Chen Bao, “…”
What do you think?
