Chapter 1789 Lord Harry
1789 Lord Harry
Grey's eyes remained the same as he looked at Sir Xavier, he didn't show any immediate reaction to being attacked by Sir Xavier, making the latter scared. Knowing that he had probably made a grave mistake, Sir Xavier felt pressured. He wanted to know what Grey' next course of action would be, but to his surprise, Grey wasn't making any signs of showing any strange movements. He only stayed in the same position as before after snuffing out the fire bird. The longer the silence lasted, the heavier the weight on Sir Xavier's heart. Now, he was certain that the force behind Grey is something that the Raging Flames Faction might not be willing to offend for someone like him.
Initially, even though he felt Grey was a genius from a top force in the Raging Flames Territory, he didn't believe that the force behind him would be greater than the Raging Flames Faction. The reason he had this thought was purely due to the reason that he had seen a few Second stage Sovereigns around Grey's age amongst the young geniuses from the top forces. Since Grey was stronger than the two Protectors, then he should be a Third stage Sovereign. Although they were rare, they weren't nonexistent. The Raging Flames Faction even had Fourth stage Sovereigns below the age of forty. Sir Xavier realized that he guessed wrong after seeing how easily Grey was able to deal with his attack. Even though he was not a top powerhouse, he was still a genuine Third stage Sovereign, a seasoned veteran. He knew the strength behind his previous attack, a regular Fourth stage Sovereign would be forced to block the attack. Even the top powerhouses in the Fourth stage won't be this relaxed in the presence of such an attack. Yet Grey dealt with it so easily. Only a very powerful Fourth stage Sovereign, or a Fifth stage Sovereign will be able to do something like this. At the thought of this, Sir Xavier sucked in a cold breath. Only forces like the Raging Flames Faction could produce such a caliber of expert among the younger generation. Being someone with some connections with the Raging Flames Faction, he was aware of all the hidden geniuses. His father, the City Lord, made sure to introduce him to these Young Masters and Ladies so as to ensure he didn't do something like this. 'He's not from this Territory.' Sir Xavier quickly deduced. He didn't recognize Grey's face even though he knew all the geniuses from the Raging Flames Faction and the other top forces in this Territory. Most Third stage Sovereigns his age won't normally get an opportunity to meet these rising stars who were stronger than them, but being the son of Raging Flames City City Lord had its perks. "Is Your Excellency not from the Raging Flames Territory?" Sir Xavier summoned the courage to ask. He already knew, but he still needed to confirm. Grey looked at him strangely, but still nodded, "You can say so."
He wasn't from the Raging Flames Territory, but he didn't need to tell Sir Xavier where he came from. Sir Xavier was about to speak as he took a step forward when Grey suddenly said. "The tea, I want more." Grey's eyes were serious, he looked at Sir Xavier with lazy eyes and added, "Only then can we continue our conversation." Sir Xavier seemed to get the underlying meaning behind Grey's words and acted decisively too. Calling the maidservant over he ordered her to bring more tea for Grey, the leaves to be precise. Grey only spared the maidservant a glance before he continued sitting around lazily. A few minutes went by before the maidservant returned. After returning, she handed over a wooden box a few inches long. Grey opened it, and after inhaling a little of its aroma, he felt his mind go clearer. His eyes shone with brilliance. He hadn't really encountered an item like this. Now he knew why these top forces always monopolize these secret worlds once they were found. A secret world with a treasure that could help clear an Elementalist's mind is quite rare. It's something that's also very valuable to arraymasters. Hence the reason Grey became very interested in it. Grey unceremoniously kept the box in his spatial ring, once again leaving Sir Xavier and the two Protectors speechless.
"Boy, how did you do that?" A hoarse old voice rang out in the room. The voice sounded like it was coming from everywhere, making it difficult for anyone to sense where it was coming from. Grey's eyes remained indifferent, he had sensed the presence of this person in the City Lord's Manor since he first came here. This person shouldn't be the City Lord since the cultivation stage wasn't high enough. A Sixth stage Sovereign. A figure appeared before Grey, and it was that of an old man who looked to be around seventy, but one could see the strong vitality in his body as there were no signs of weakness even with his old look. "Lord Harry!" Sir Xavier called out, hurriedly offering the center seat he was previously occupying. The old man called Lord Harry didn't take a seat, rather, he kept his gaze on Grey's body, seemingly trying to peer into his soul. Grey didn't feel comfortable under the scrutiny of the old man. This old man had kept his senses locked on Grey from the moment Grey entered the manor, but he didn't make a move. Only after seeing Grey store the box away did he come out. Lord Harry looked at Grey, and raised a brow when he noticed that he was keeping mute. "I know you're not deaf, boy." He said calmly, taking a seat. He didn't feel any pressure from Grey, just pure curiosity. The method Grey used to make the jug, and now this wooden box to disappear intrigued him. The first time Grey used it on the jug, he was taken by surprise, but when Grey acted just now, he was focused on him, and even with his full focus, he couldn't comprehend how he did, hence a reason he stepped out to ask. "A cheap trick." Grey waved it off, he locked his eyes on Sir Xavier and said coldly, "I hope you have a good explanation for your previous actions." Sir Xavier froze when he heard this. He thought that Grey bringing up the tea was a way of him subtly asking for compensation. The box of tea leaves offered to Grey were quite expensive, and acquiring it wasn't easy. But to calm Grey, he didn't hesitate to offer it to him, yet he was still shamelessly talking about it. "Xavier had an issue with his training a few years back, whenever he's agitated, he occasionally unconsciously releases these fire birds. You shouldn't take offence, little friend." Lord Harry was the one who answered for Sir Xavier. He was the one in charge of the conversation now, so he naturally wanted to take control of it. Sir Xavier felt embarrassed that Lord Harry had to tell an obvious lie for his sake, but he didn't dare to utter a word of denial. At the moment, he realized that he wasn't on the level to speak with Grey. The realization scared him. Sir Xavier wasn't the only one whose heart was in a turmoil. The two Protectors exchanged glances, both seeing the fear in each other's eyes, the fear was especially present in the Black Protector's eyes. When Grey appeared in front of the McCall Family and stopped the old man from self-destructing, he wanted to slap Grey to death there and then, but the Blue Protector stopped him at the last second. Knowing that the Blue Protector has always been cautious, and his intuition has saved them on multiple occasions, he didn't dare to attack. Only then did he knock out Mark. In the space of a few minutes, control over the conversation with Grey has been passed on to a higher chain of command as after only a short time, each level of command realizes that he was above them. The Two Protectors knew that they weren't Grey's opponents, so they opted to wait for Sir Xavier. After Sir Xavier appeared, the Black Protector being unable to leave made him apprehensive, hence the reason he became cautious and didn't immediately fallout with Grey. He eventually lost his cool and attacked thinking that Grey wasn't from a place as powerful as the Raging Flames Faction. However, with how Grey easily dealt with his attack, he realized otherwise. Lord Harry appeared after noticing that this conversation was on the verge of getting out of hand. With Grey being stronger than Sir Xavier, he could kill him if he was upset. So even if Grey didn't mysteriously make those items disappear, Lord Harry would've still made an appearance. He couldn't allow someone stronger than Sir Xavier to unleash his strength wantonly here. Here's the chap! Thanks for reading!
