Chapter 1007: Governess.
Shi Lang sat in the waiting hall, and he put one leg over the other. He did not mind that someone told him to wait regardless of his mighty status. He had other ways to make these people take note of him. He raised his left hand and opened his communicator. Then he began analyzing the places where has encountered the monks in the past.
The sight of him manipulating an image was something that caused the people to shiver. They were a city filled with bright minds, and forgers, yet they had yet to make something like this. Many people were gazing at him, when they all saw a young lady rushing over to Shi Lang's side.
The lady bowed and said, "Senior, the governess has invited you over for tea."
Shi Lang nodded with a smile on his face and said, "Please, after you."
He followed the young attendant calmly with his hands behind his back. They moved from the outer region to the inner region and then to the core of the palace where Shi Lang took a deep breath as he looked at the decorations and said, "Your governess sure has a fine taste."
The attendant smiled and said, "My lady does not like these superficial things. It was the love of the people who came over to gift her with such things and so she reused them as the decoration."
Shi Lang nodded and then they passed a small garden and the Terran frowned. He sensed a very subtle spatial fluctuation in the surroundings. The young man raised his head to look around with his eyes flickering with lightning. He detected a completely new combination of the spiritual runes engraved on the surroundings and he could not help but smile.
The attendant did not notice this because the Terran held all these expressions inside his mind, and soon, they came to the core area where Hao Ren found a small villa. He raised his head to look at the blue sky and he sighed.
The attendant led Shi Lang to the garden area of the villa, where a young lady was sitting in the void with her legs crossed and under her body a spiritual lotus. The Terran paused a bit at this sight. His heart picked up pace. This technique reminded him of Amelia.
After a few minutes, the young man watched the attendant approach closer to the lotus as she said, "My Lady, the guests have arrived."
The young lady on the lotus nodded and she stood up in the void. As she turned around and stepped down on the ground before the lotus vanished behind her. Shi Lang was looking at her and his gaze was slightly colder.
The lady bore a striking resemblance to Amelia, as bizarre as it may sound, she did look like Amelia. The lady paused for a second and asked, "Did I offend you, Sir?"
Shi Lang took a deep breath to calm his mind and said, "You did not offend me, Madam Governess, but your face looks very similar to someone close to me. I was only surprised."
The lady revealed a surprised look and said, "Well, if you say so. I am Cara. May I ask what trade did you want to discuss?"
Shi Lang nodded and revealed the communicator to her, as he said, "I would like to trade this artifact with you for the designs of this restriction ring."
He gave her a normal communicator and then showed her how to operate one. The lady was surprised, and said, "When you mentioned that you were a Dao Forger, I thought you came here for trading Dao Weapons. I did not expect it to be such a delicate artifact."
Shi Lang shook his head and replied, "I will not trade Dao Armaments with just anyone who can pay me money. There are many things that one should consider when handling such dreadful things."
Cara nodded thoughtfully and asked, "Is this communicator all that you wish to trade? I will provide you with the Suppression Rings but that would be unfair for you, wouldn't it?"
Shi Lang shrugged and replied, "Does not make a difference, I have my own reasons for trading these."
Cara looked at Shi Lang for a prolonged second and then she said to the attendant, "Call Master Rabbi, he will explain the Suppression ring to Master Shi."
The attendant left and Cara asked, "Can you tell me why are you really here?"
Shi Lang smiled and replied, "Well, to be honest, I want to ask what you did to keep the monks away? These people have been creating chaos all over the world, and yet here we are. The city is devoid of them. What did you do?"
Cara replied with a faint smile, "I sealed the city for ten days, and watched them outside, but once they attacked me, when I tried to tell them no, the city folk retaliated, and when a flood of ten thousand people comes in to attack you, even the titans feel fear. That was it."
Shi Lang thought about it and found it was very plausible. He nodded and said, "The monks are creating chaos everywhere in the world, if you have any strong contacts outside, please tell them to put up a resistance against them as well. Also, if the outside merchants travel in the city, please quarantine them, isolate them so that they can clear their minds and not spread the word of mouth."
Cara was surprised and asked, "What is this about?"
Shi Lang revealed a bit of his supreme aura, which made Cara shiver and the young man replied, "It is the battle of two Supremes. While I wish to restore the balance, the monks on the wester are spawning like ants. This is creating a big trouble for the balance of Dao. I hope you understand what I mean."
Cara nodded and replied, "I do, but on this land the Spear Saint can be the judge."
Shi Lang rolled eyes and he raised his hand to called the Spear Saint, after a moment when the call was connected, the Terran said, "Old Beiming, you tell people what is your stand on the monk disturbance."
The old man sighed and said, "Scavenger, you know that I wished to act against them and if not for the Her Holiness's words, I would have."
Shi Lang nodded and said, "Thanks, that's it."
Cara was shocked as she saw the communication. The Terran said, "I assume that you have found the answer to your question. Is everything clear now?"
The lady nodded and replied, "Yes, esteemed guest. I have taken it into account."
What do you think?
