Chapter 331 331: The Dark Era- Truth Of All 1

VRROOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The red-colored jet blitzed through the sky, a fiery orange light illuminating the snowy clouds. Yet, it pierced through like a knife through butter, continuing its speed in a particular direction.

"Snowy plains, faint animal lives, and an intense amount of Frost Energy. Interesting," Ryuk mused to himself as he looked outside from the jet's pilot control.

Beside him, no other than MadWhite who veered the jet by himself.

"Of course, it's interesting."

"I mean, there might be some places in the world where it snows constantly—I get that. But this place, in Grade B, snows the most. It's called Nagas Plain!" MadWhite replied.

Ryuk nodded, muttering the name under his breath before his eyes furrowed.

"Nagas Plain?" he asked.

MadWhite nodded with a chuckle. "Seems like you finally got it. Well, yeah, this is the territory of the Nagas. The most snowy place on Endearth is occupied by them."

As much as he found the Nagas Plain interesting, Ryuk didn't want to be interrupted at all throughout the next two weeks—something that would no doubt be challenged if he moved into a territory that didn't belong to him.

It would give them every right to mess with him since he was in their territory.

"I don't suppose you have some sort of special card that grants you access into the territory as you wish, do you?" Ryuk asked.

MadWhite suddenly jerked the controls of the jet downward, causing it to spiral as if about to crash.

Despite the violent movement, Ryuk remained standing, unperturbed, his legs seemingly glued to the floor.

Just before the jet could hit the ground, it took a swift turn, floating horizontally and blasting forward, sending snow splashing to the sides.

As the speed of the jet slowly lowered, MadWhite grinned.

"I actually do, Ryuk."

"You do?" Ryuk asked, watching as Mahdite's grin widened.

"Yeah, and it's me being a human."

"As a human, I have every fucking access there is to Endearth, irrespective of whose fucking territory it is," MadWhite said with a cold smile.

Ryuk raised an eyebrow. "Well, that's something I don't think the other races will agree to."

"Endearth belongs to humans, Ryuk. Only humans. It was yanked away little by little by the descendants of the other races..." MadWhite said as the jet crawled into a smooth speed of Mach 1.

"Fallen Angels, Vampires, Werewolves, Elves, Dwarves, Nagas—you fucking name it," Mahdite continued as he rose from the controls and walked to Ryuk's side.

"Those races are like interdimensional beings. In fact, you can say they are like the Knulls—nothing but invaders!"

He stopped before Ryuk, whose eyes slightly widened in shock at his words. Clapsing Ryuk's shoulders he continued.

"That was what the Dark Era was all about. Humanity trying to defend its world from those weird purple gates that suddenly opened up in the sky, pouring in all the other races."

"It wasn't called Endearth in the beginning. No, we used to have a grander name," Mahdite whispered, and Ryuk felt himself shake slightly.

"And what was it called?"

"Earth. Our planet is Earth, Ryuk. The planet of humans," MadWhite said—a truth that would have caused Ryuk to take two steps back in shock if not for the firm grip on his shoulders.

His eyes widened further, staring at Mahdite, whose eyes didn't contain even the faintest hint of a lie.

"I want to know more."

"One day, a time when I wasn't even born yet, purple gates opened all over Earth, and the races all began pouring in."

"Along with their entrance came an energy that reeked from their gates—an energy we later referred to as Apex Energy or Mana."

"That energy changed Earth to unbelievable levels. But do you know what else it did?" He asked rhetorically.

"It turned our normal animals—ones we had already tamed and controlled—into wild beasts."

"It infected every single thing that existed, and creatures that used to coexist peacefully alongside humanity turned into what we eventually referred to as Mutated Beasts!"

"When the other races descended, of course, humanity was also exposed to Mana. But cultivation wasn't a thing, all we had was our technologies."

"When they all arrived, the other races, they seemed lost and scared."

"Some event must have happened in their true world, and they just wanted us humans to take them in—which we did, pretty warmly, since they were all so capable of intelligence."

"But guess what happened when they realized they couldn't go back to their true world? When they realized they would be stuck on Endearth forever? And when they saw that humans had no idea how to cultivate and their only defense was our 'puny technologies and guns?'"

"They... they fought?" Ryuk murmured.

"Oh, they did more than that," Mahdite said, his voice laced with contempt.

"They promised us the prospects of power. They gave cultivation manuals and various artifacts as they slowly took control of the growing Earth and began using us."

"Soon, after much favor-courting and humanity fully trusting them, coexisting peacefully with the other races..."

"They devised a random idea. And that idea turned the guests into the bosses—and the original bosses into slaves!"

"And what was that?"

"Humanity had nothing but lower technologies, and its potential for Mana was incredibly low. How was humanity worthy of having the upper hand?"

"After they gained everything and became comfortable, they realized that humanity was nothing but an inferior, puny race—one that didn't deserve to be at the same level as them..."

"Werewolves became known for eating human's meat. Vampires became known for drinking their blood. Titans became known for conducting horrific experiments. The Elves became known for their 'superior bloodline'—a blessing just to be seen by a human."

"Everyone forgot who owned the world they were so comfortable in," MadWhite said, slipping his hands away from Ryuk's shoulders as he stepped away.

But Ryuk remained rooted to where he stood.

"Seventeen years old, aren't you, Ryuk?" Mahdite asked, turning to him while smirking sadistically.

"Seventeen years old, and you have no idea about the Dark Era... That is how much the real truth can be rewritten by the winners."
