Gods(2)
"Doesn't that mean I was merely a pawn being used for someone elses purpose?" I asked with a frown. The being scoffed "I forgot how limited you mortals viewpoints are. A pawn is a tool with no will of it's own, only moving by the will of the player. Everything you have done and will do is entirely by your own will. Sure you were incentivized to act a certain way but not once has that choice been forced on you." it said seriously. "Not much difference between that and being a pawn though is there?" I said angrily.-
"First of all pull your head out of your ass and actually fucking listen to what you are being told. Theres a BIG difference that you keep glossing over by getting all butt hurt about being tempted to follow someone elses plan. Second of all you shouldn't be getting angry at all as you mortals do the same stuff to each other and even your pokemon. You think that pokemon just actively want to be caught by nature? No! The fact of the matter is you lot have incentivized it for them so much that only an idiot or someone with a ridiculous amount of pride would reject it."-
"I know for a fact you know what I mean." the being said with a scoff. "That's different!" I went to argue but was cut off by Ar-ceus. "In what way? Because you are human and they are pokemon? Do you think that makes them lesser than you in some way?" she asked and I gaped for a moment trying to find some way to argue but I couldn't logically do so. Pokemon weren't lesser than people, in fact they were greater in several ways.-
Perhaps their cultures weren't as refined as ours but that wasn't because they weren't as smart as we were but because living in the wild never bothered them so they had no reason to change it. As much as I fucking hated it I had to admit that there really was no difference between what I had been subjected to and what humans do to pokemon when training them on a fundamental basis. Pokemon allowed themselves to be trained for the benefits and I chased those quests for the same reason. It was always something that was chosen to do.-
"So what now?" I eventually asked after coming to terms with this. "That's up to you as nothing changes for us. She'll keep sending you quests to clean up the threats to humanity and I'll watch you deal with everything as you go. Either way the only one really possibly changing after this meeting is you. Enough about that though. Don't you want to know other things too? Maybe what's going on with your divinity? Or perhaps a few suggestions on that spare evolution token you have? What about the plates, specifically if you can even keep them outside of Sinnoh?" the being said leadingly.-
"Would you either answer any of those questions?" I asked confused. Don't get me wrong I was totally good with the conversation being as casual as it had been so far but I didn't really think I was actually entitled to answers of any kind. I was proud of what I had accomplished in this world but by no means was I arrogant enough to think these two beings who could be called supreme owed me a damn thing. "I do so love it when a you figures out just the sort of position they are in. While we aren't obligated to answer you we probably will anyways because it spices things up for us, adds a personal element that just watching you do things lacks." the dark being says with a grin.-
"I don't like the implication of that first statement." I said honestly. "Oh yeah the "one of you" thing. Multiversal shenanigans, doesn't concern you anymore. When you first died it did but not anymore, rules and all that. I won't get into it, doubt your feeble little mind could even comprehend the concepts at play anyways. Moving on, a suggested use of that evolution token of yours is on that spear of yours."-
"While those gloves might be better you'd need two tokens to elevate them to divine treasure level while that spear is already close and merely needs a single one. Don't go thinking a single tool is a waste of a token either as I can personally confirm that the difference between having a divine tool and not having one makes all the difference once you fully achieve godhood. If you were a wild god such as those pokemon gods who were naturally able to fully utilize their energies freely it would be different but as a human god it's a handicap that theres no real way to avoid." the being said seriously.-
"Wild god? Human god? Aren't they both gods though, why is there a difference?" I asked confused. "It's a matter of constitution I'm afraid. Wild gods are born of creatures with an innate domain and free use of their energies from birth. To us there's truly not much difference between being mortal and divine beyond scale of our power and immortality." Ar-ceus explained calmly. "For us human gods it's different as in most incarnations of the race we aren't naturally attuned to any domains and even our natural energies are rather frail compared to other species."-
"In the rare few cases where one of us become a god it's through sheer hard work and jaw dropping amounts of valuable resources making up for this innate gap. While both gods we human gods are by far the most dangerous and powerful type of god as we are typically far more refined in essence than wild gods, what you'd call skills in the system. This is also where divine tools come into play. Through them we close the gap in our ability to utilize our energy with the wild gods."-
"That spear of yours is already a pseudo-divine tool due to being imbued with the divinity of the Heatran you killed through sheer fucking coincidence. All the right conditions were met at just the right levels to accomplish that. Slap on some Unknown runes to enhance the thing and use a token on it and you'd have a full blown divine tool, well technically you'd have a second one but I think that chain really shouldn't count since it's a one time use only. A divine level consumable seems an apt description." the being said seriously.
What do you think?
