Volume 14 Chapter 51: Faelyn Vs Shire

"What? You want us to face off against those kids?" Shire and the other instructors were surprised by Aidiun's suggestion. This had never happened before. Most of the time, the instructors sat on the sidelines and proctor while the assistant instructors did it.

Aidiun's eyes were calm like the ocean as he explained, "The students had gotten too big for their britches."

Hearing this, the others were silent as they also understood this feeling. S-class had lost against the F-class. However, this couldn't undermine S-class abilities. They were still stronger than the other classes. Their base abilities were high.

But the main issue was,

"There's one group that's strong." Keith and his group. There was a separation between them and the other students from S-class. It was clear that they were stronger than the others.

"They're much stronger than the previous years," Tennol muttered. Ability-wise, they were definitely more capable. Each one had a different aspect going for them.

Aidiun stated, “They need to be put in their place.” But with this ability, they were getting cocky. It was most noticeable for Herrick and Melor.

Alifa and the rest may not show it. But there were some moments when they were slacking.

"..." The other professors nodded to that.

Each student from the S-class had a professor to deal with. Faelyn stared at Shire. She took a deep breath as she summoned Quill, “Quill, I will need your help on this.” She had to do something to deal with this professor.

“Pii!” The hedgehog nodded as he quickly created earth spikes from the ground. Shire was unfazed as he stared at what was before him, “Ho, using your spirit. That’s good.” But while he was unfazed by this, that was when he used wind magic!

“Pii!” “Quill!”

“Earth magic is decent. However, if you use wind magic, it can easily shatter.” A wave of magic bombarded Faelyn! However, Quill stood before her and continued to summon earth walls. This movement was a loss; slowly, Faelyn's body was getting cut by the wind. The number of walls was slowly getting smaller.

Quill, keep going. She only needed a few moments; the elf took deep breaths. She was concentrating her mana. Quill understood and mustered all his strength to create a giant slab before them.

"Hoo, that's impressive for a low-level spirit." Shire fired his magic to blow it to smithereens. However, that was when something came flying out of the rubble! It was a ferocious speed.

Shire quickly summoned earth walls to block it.

A silver spear was before his eyes. Faelyn's strongest attack had pierced through all the walls of earth. But it didn't pierce through his mana barrier.

That giant pike was right in front of his eyes. That had pierced through almost all of the shields. It was only the last shield that allowed him to block.

"Incredible.” A chuckle escaped his mouth as he stared at the fainted elf.

He couldn't hide his pride; she had increased her power output by enforcing her magic into a solid point, becoming a literal spear. She overcame a majority of his defenses. She will grow from this.

“It seems I won.” Tennol grinned as she stared down at Herrick, who looked blank and spaced out. 3 minutes. The battle lasted a short time. In that time frame, only one thing came to mind; obliteration. Tennol had defeated him so easily and swiftly as well.

“At least you lasted longer than Melor.”

“…Huh?” “I fought Melor before you, so I took him out.” Tennol had double duty and had taken both students. He had taken out the dwarf before she came here.

“…” Herrick was speechless. I was this weak? Never had he expected something like this.

Tennol smiled, “You did great for three minutes. You calmly analyzed the situation and acted accordingly."

“But I’m surprised you didn’t go face Keith.”

Tennol chuckled, “That’s because he got someone more dangerous and ruthless."

Keith was waiting in the room for some time. However, that was when he walked in, "Professor Aidiun, you're going to be the one fighting against me?" The elf was calm and composed, "I thought you would be more surprised by my appearance."

Keith shook his head, "I had a feeling we might have to fight someone." This room was oddly similar to the time when he fought against Cadmus. He got the feeling that the finals would be identical to that.

"Plus, Herrick and the others were getting too confident." Keith noticed how a couple of people were. They were getting slightly too lax with everything. But that was not enough. What cemented it was the last final.

After the two had won against the assistant instructors, they got a little too cocky. What did they think was going to happen?
